There's nothing in the Bible that suggests that worshipping only Jesus is worshipping God. Jesus in Jn. 14:1 says, "... ye believe in God, believe also in me." He told his followers to worship God in spirit and in truth (Jn. 4:23).
Also, 1Pet. 3:15 says we should worship the Father God. Furthermore, 1Jn. 2:22 states that he that denies Jesus Christ or the Father is an antichrist. So, we should neither deny the Father nor Jesus. We should follow and obey both God and Jesus.
This means we don't have to separate the Father from the Son; moreso as 1Cor. 11:3 states that God is the Head of Christ - meaning that both God and Christ are together.
In conclusion, as we honour Jesus we should also worship God the Father.
