In the part 1, it has been established that God has not given any man the power to take another man's life. The soul of every living thing is in the hand of God.

As a law enforcer it is important to train yourself well so that when you need to apprehend a criminal, you will no where to hit in order to apprehend, not to kill cos God has not given to us the right to take another man's life.

Luke 3:14 KJV
And the soldiers likewise demanded of him, saying, And what shall we do? And he said unto them, Do violence to no man, neither accuse any falsely; and be content with your wages.

So, you can shoot a criminal in his or her hand if he or she is trying to shoot at you or you can shoot him or her in the leg if he or she is running away.

Having said that, it is important to not that every human being has the right to defend himself and in the cause of defending oneself against a hardened criminal fighting back to kill and the criminal died then so be it.
