Can bad spirit touch human beings?

The Bible is clear on this issue concerning bad spirits. 1John 5:18b states, "...he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and the wicked one cannot touch him." This implies that those born of God are free from the influence of the evil spirits. On the other hand, it points to the fact that those that are not born of God can be touched by evil spirits and Satan.

That verse also states that he that is born of God keepeth himself; and that is by watching over his actions, emotions, speech and dealings with other people. People that are mindful of their characters, to do the will of God, and serve him cannot be harmed by evil spirits.

On the other hand, those that are not of God are vulnerable to evil spirits attack. They may even have evil spirits living inside them. These are said to be evil spirits possesed.

And so, for us to be free from evil spirits, we should be on the side of God.
