Where did you sleep Last Night".

Hello everyone!! I hope you are having a wonderful day. My name is Javier García and it's always a pleasure to be here sharing music. Today I wanted to make and share in this great community a modest cover of a song that was popularized by the more than legendary American grunge band Nirvana, "Where did you sleep Last Night

This piece also known as "In the pines", "My girl" or "Hey girl" in American folk dates back to 1870, the identity of its author is unknown but it has been performed by high-level artists such as: Bob Dylan, Dolly Parton, Mark Lanegan and others, including Nirvana. With a meaninglessness free of interpretation, its lyrics in Kurt Cobain's voice convey feelings of loneliness, abandonment, and love.

In its third verse, for my taste, the song takes a gloomy tone and talks about the death of a hard-working man, whose head was found at the place of his death but his body was never found. He also references the fear of being alone in the cold and dark, depicted as "the pines, where the sun never shines, would tremble all night." "Where Did You Sleep Last Night" in my opinion is a powerful song in its lyrics that is summed up in the fear of being forgotten, loneliness and loneliness and a deep feeling of love.

Nirvana performed this song in 1993 and it was the promotional single from the MTV album Unplugged in New York as well as being chosen to be the B-side of the single Pennyroyal Tea in 1994. Cataloged as a definitive version by Lanegan (the artist through whom Cobain knew the song), it is recognized, whether or not by critics, that the tear, sadness and intensity that Cobain put into it were unique, pasting each lament of his voice into each lyric of it.

Personally, listening to this song transmits an incredible mystery, as well as a bit of sadness, as if they were Kurt's last words. Without further ado, I leave you with this simple cover, and more than a cover, a song sung in memory of Kurt Cobain, eternal voice of a generation. Wherever you are, RIP Kurt... Thank you all very much!!
