A radish with plenty of guts - Dadish: Gameplay [ENG-ESP]

If I had known Dadish in my childhood, maybe I wouldn't hate radishes as much as I hate them in the vegetable salad. I still eat them, out of obligation, although this video game has taught me that radishes have feelings too, and that's worse... How many radish daddies have I eaten, leaving an orphaned radish family? I'm not crazy, this is the concept of Dadish, a retro platform game in which you must take care of your baby radishes, even if they are the green imitation of Baby's Day Out. I know it's crazy, but it's worth enjoying this adventure full of traps, bosses, and challenging puzzles.

Si hubiera conocido a Dadish en mi infancia, tal vez no odiara tanto a los rábanos como los odio en la ensalada de verduras. Igual los como, por obligación, aunque este videojuego me ha enseñado que los rábanos también tienen sentimientos, y eso es peor... ¿A cuántos papás rábanos me habré comido dejando a una familia de rabanitos huérfanos? No estoy loco, este es el concepto de Dadish, un juego retro plataformero en el que debes cuidar de tus rábanos bebes, aunque estos sean la imitación verdulera de Baby's Day Out. Lo sé, es desquiciado por dónde lo mires, aunque vale la pena disfrutar de esta aventura plagada de trampas, jefes y desafiantes puzles.

Suddenly you're being the best radish dad when you fall asleep and your kids escape, only to be trapped inside the different worlds of a living food island. Another reference: "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs". The sleepy dad then has to navigate the most dangerous traps because of his heavy sleep and his naughty children. Almost everything will remind you of the pixelated games of your childhood, even the characters' text dialogues. Dadish is quite similar to the classic platformer titles, only this one has the bonus of vegetables and comedy to lighten up the adventure.

I love (with all passion) indies with quaint pixel art; the colors stand out to make the gameplay enjoyable, familiar, and hypnotic. Sorry if I exaggerate (I probably do), but I have a notorious weakness for pixelated nostalgia.

De pronto estás siendo el mejor papá rábano cuando te quedas dormido y tus hijos escapan para, por si fuera poco, quedar atrapados dentro de los diferentes mundos de una isla con comida viviente. Otra referencia: "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs". El dormilón papá tiene, entonces, que sortear las más peligrosas trampas por culpa de su sueño pesado y sus hijos traviesos. Casi todo te recordará a los juegos pixelados de tu niñez, incluso los diálogos en texto de los personajes. Dadish es bastante similar a los clásicos títulos de plataformas, solo que este tiene el plus de las verduras y la comedia para aligerar la aventura.

Amo (con toda pasión) a los indie con el pintoresco pixelart; los colores destacan para convertir la jugabilidad en algo agradable, familiar e hipnótico. Lo siento si exagero (probablemente lo hago), pero tengo una notoria debilidad por la nostalgia pixelada.

The first world I tried was "Abaro Woods", which is more like the game's tutorial. It's very easy to get familiar with the controls, plus the dynamics per level are quite deductive. However, as you capture the children of Dadish (I guess that's the name of the radish) the difficulty will increase and the platforms will become more extensive. Be careful with the spikes! You will have to rescue Dadish's seven children, facing, as a final obstacle, an evil boss. Guess who was the first boss I faced? It was a hamburger.

Are hamburgers evil? At least this one wanted to kill Dadish, and by the way, he was a pretty cool burger because he wore sunglasses. To defeat this first villain I didn't employ any skills, and this didn't strike me as odd because the radish just jumps and walks. The fights are just another Puzzle, and I like this a lot.

El primer mundo que probé fue "Abaro Woods", que es más bien el tutorial del juego. Es muy sencillo familiarizarse con los controles, además la dinámica por nivel es bastante deductiva. No obstante, mientras capturas a los hijos de Dadish (supongo que así se llama el rábano) la dificultad irá aumentando y las plataformas se volverán más extensas. ¡Ten cuidado con las púas! Deberás rescatar a los siete niños de Dadish, enfrentando, como obstáculo final, a un jefe malvado. ¿Adivinen quién fue el primer jefe que enfrenté? Fue una hamburguesa.

¿Las hamburguesas son malas? Al menos esta quería mata a Dadish, y por cierto, era una hamburguesa bastante cool porque usaba gafas de sol. Para derrotar a este primer villano no empleé ninguna habilidad, y esto no me pareció extraño porque el rábano solo salta y camina. Los combates son un Puzle más, y esto me gusta muchísimo.

Dadish has another plus: its immersive sound, full of classic arcade-era references. When the radish jumps, it reminds me of Mario Bros before eating the mushroom that helps it grow. I find it excellent that the levels, even when lengthy, tend to be digestible for the player. The negative counterpart is the ads, but luckily they don't interrupt your adventure. Dadish tiene otro punto a favor: su sonido envolvente, repleto de las referencias clásicas de la época de los arcade. Cuando el rábano salta, me recuerda a Mario Bros antes de comer el hongo que lo ayuda a crecer. Me parece excelente que los niveles, aun cuando se prolongan, tienden a ser digeribles para el jugador. La contraparte negativa son los anuncios, pero por suerte no interrumpen tu aventura. Importante: Este plataformero está disponible para Smartphone, está disponible de forma gratuita para dispositivos móviles.

En el gameplay podrán ver mi travesía por "Abaro Woods", intentando capturar a los traviesos hijos del papá rábano para que no los conviertan en sopa o ensalada.
