Guacamelee 2 | No Redention for Salvador

Today, we are going back into the Mexiverse. We continue are quest for the relics to stop Salvador. This is Guacamlee 2.

It's time for the final showdown. Salvador awaits us in Otromundo. As he prepares his ritual to eat the Sacred Guacamole, we made it to Isla Bonita to learn about his past. The whole deal with this rogue luchador is similar that story from Kung Fu Panda. Tai Long met a similar fate. He was destined for greatness, but his will couldn't keep him from turning evil. Salvador saved this timelines from Calaca, but he was power hungry. Thus, he came evil.

By the way, the form of storytelling through glasswork and music is amazing. It reminded me of the whole story bits from The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap. And the Nun playing Mexican Music while telling the whole story gives it depth to the already interesting story of this game.

Before going in our quest to the Temple of the Snake Temple, we get some words from our trainers. Some are better than other. And with this in mind, we make our path to the toughest part of the game. I love how the game makes you realize how big the whole are is. For a 2D game the use of depth is interesting as a concept to show how big are the stakes.

This temple is way harder than any of the other areas. You need to traverse it using every skill in the repertoire. There are also some goodies along the way to get some boosts in health and have the chance to buy the last upgrades from the tree. We also managed to score a 999-hit-combo counter that gave us one of the coolest animations I have seen for the combo counter in both games. Be sure to check it out. It was amazing.

As we keep moving up. The whole deal becomes more and more difficult. That is until we reach the relics. Then, we are sent back to our timeline, but our beloved Lupita manages to send us back. After a rematch with Uay Pek, we make it to Otromundo to face Salvador once and for all.

Last time we couldn't even lay a finger on this guy. And he for sure thinks we won't be able to beat him. However, he's going to find out that we're the toughest Luchador in the Mexiverse! Yes, he might have godly powers after taking the Guacamole, but we have our skills and working hands to make this work!

No hay rendención para Salvador

Hoy volvemos al Mexiverso. Continuaremos nuestra aventura para conseguir las reliquias y detener a Salvador. Esto es Guacamelee 2.

Llegó la hora de ir por el jefe final. Mientras Salvador prepara su ritual en Otromundo, nostros llegamos a Isla Bonita para aprender algo sobre su historia. Resulta que este persona tiene un pasado parecido a Tai Long de Kung Fu Panda. Estaba destinado para la grandeza, pero el poder se le subió a la cabeza. Sí, Salvador salvó este línea temporal de Calaca, pero no pudo mantenerse por el camino correcto.

Por cierto, todo este elemento de la historia con vitrales y música, me recordó mucho al estilo de historia en The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap. El hecho de que sea una monja tocando guitarra quien cuente la historia, me parece una cosa que le agrega profundida a la historia tan loca de este juego.

Antes de ir al Templo de la Serpiente, recibimos una palabras de aliento de nuestros entrenadores. Algunas son mejores que otras. Y con esto en mente, nos adentramos al área más difícil del juego. Me encanta el uso de la profundidad en los juegos 2D para demostrar el tamaño de la adversidad a la cual nos enfrentamos.

Este templo es más difícil que todo lo que hemos hecho hasta ahora. Para atravesarlo, hay que hacer uso de todas las habilidades que aprendimos. Todavía quedan algunas cosas para aumentar la salud y comprar las mejoras que nos faltan. Además, aquí logramos alcanzar un combo de 999 golpes. Y esto dejó ver una animación muy genial sobre los combos. ¡No te la pierdas!

Mientras más subamos, más difícil se hará esto. Todo sigue así hasta que llegamos a las reliquias. Luego, somos enviados de regreso a nuestra línea temporal, pero nuestra amada Lupita consigue regresarnos al templo. Después de un segundo round contra Uay Pek, nos adentramos al Otromundo para alcanzar a Salvador y detenerlo.

La última vez que lo intentamos, no pudimos ponerle un dedo encima. Y este sujeto cree que porque tiene poderes dignos de un dios, no le voy a ganar. Sin embargo, va a aprender lo que dos manos y muchos poderes pueden hacer en una lucha. Hora de dejar claro quien es el mejor luchador del Mexiverse. ¡Ni el Guacamole de los dioses lo va a salvar!
