As usual, I will show you some magic that happened in my kitchen and you will definitely love it. Today, I prepared one of my favourite foods and aside from enjoying this food, I don't get tired of preparing it.
My love for porridge started as a kid. Back then, I really did not love yam. I ate it but just a few bites and that was all but because I was a palm oil drinker and since my mom poured lots of it in porridge, I ate it very well. I don't know why I was like that but eating porridge eventually made me love yam and it's one of my favorites as long as it's prepared with palm oil.
Porridge is a very delicious and nutritious meal if prepared properly, the process you are about to learn from me is one of the best ways to prepare your porridge. Everyone knows yam is a carbohydrate but with some recipes, we can change the fate of the yam and spice it up with numerous vitamins.
Aside from all these mentioned, there are a few other things you can add. Pumpkin, Sausage, beef, chicken and a few other things can take your porridge to a whole new level.
Before I started anything;
I poured palm oil into the same pot I used to boil the yam after cleaning and heating it. I allowed the palm oil to get hot before turning the shredded fish and cowskin into it.
I allowed them to fry under low heat before adding onions and the blended pepper about three minutes later.
I added seasoning cubes and just a small quantity of salt since I already boiled the yam with salt. I allowed everything to fry for about seven minutes under low because I needed the fried taste to make the porridge taste great. I also added the crayfish so that it would play its part in influencing the porridge taste.
I went on to put the yam and some chopped green pepper into the pot, I stirred everything with a turning stick, added a small quantity of water and allowed it to cook for another five minutes.
After five minutes of cooking, I mashed the yam with the turning stick. Some people love to have their yam remain solid but that's not me, I love it mashed. After mashing, I added the Basil leaves and allowed it to cook again for a few minutes.
I wasn't satisfied with the mashing so I did it again and the outcome was awesome. While stirring it for the last time, I was already salivating because in my head, I can imagine what the taste would be with the recipes.
The porridge tastes great and it's nutritious as well. It is quite economical except you choose to use really expensive recipes and it would interest you to know that I spent less than $3 for this sumptuous meal.
