De este lado, en la iglesia local en la que me congrego, hemos entonado canticos especiales que han ministrado de una manera especial en nuestras vidas. Entre las canciones más hermosas de los últimos tiempos, entre las que más me han ministrado a mí, personalmente, está “Si Tu Presencia Conmigo No Va”.

Esta canción me recuerda lo dependiente que somos de Jehová, nosotros, los que hemos recibido las buenas nuevas de salvación y hemos decidido vivir conforme a la palabra del Gran Sabio; porque no solo de pan vivirá el hombre, sino de toda palabra que salga de la boca de Dios. Esto nos lleva al desierto, en aquellos tiempos, cuando Jehová alimentaba a Israel con maná, alimento que no conocían ellos, y que sus padres tampoco conocieron; esto, dice la biblia, que sucedió para que ellos, el pueblo de Israel, entendiera la realidad: que no solo de pan vivirá el hombre, sino de toda Palabra que sale de la boca de Dios. Deuteronomio 8:3.

Muchos sabios que se apoyan en su sabiduría, piensan que es cobarde rendir nuestras decisiones en total dependencia a un ser superior; sin embargo, no estamos llamados a contender, sino a comprender el proverbio 3:5-6: “Confía en Jehová con todo tu corazón, y no te apoyes en tu propia prudencia. Reconócelo en todos tus caminos, y él enderezará tus veredas”; ¿o acaso no fue esto lo que hizo Moisés? En Éxodo 33, Cuando el pueblo entristeció porque Jehová estaba enfurecido, porque ellos decidieron alabar a un becerro de oro forjado por el hombre (Aarón), Dios enfureció y quiso apartar su presencia del pueblo ya que en furor podía consumirles; no obstante, se acercó pues Moisés al tabernáculo de reunión y suplicó a Dios, diciendo:

“Si tu presencia no ha de ir conmigo, no nos saques de aquí. ¿Y en qué se conocerá aquí que he hallado gracia en tus ojos, yo y tu pueblo, sino en que tú andes con nosotros, y que yo y tu pueblo seamos apartados de todos los pueblos que están sobre la faz de la tierra?

Y Jehová dijo a Moisés: También haré esto que has dicho, por cuanto has hallado gracia en mis ojos, y te he conocido por tu nombre”.

De modo que si Moisés, hombre que halló tal gracia delante de los ojos del Padre, reconoció la dependencia absoluta de Dios para llegar a la tierra prometida, ¿Cuánto más nosotros hoy, necesitamos reconocer la dependencia plena que tenemos de Dios?

Many wise men who rely on their wisdom think that it is cowardly to surrender our decisions in total dependence on a higher being; However, we are not called to contend, but to understand proverb 3:5-6: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight”; Or was this not what Moses did? In Exodus 33, When the people were sad because Jehovah was angry, because they decided to praise a golden calf forged by man (Aaron), God became angry and wanted to remove his presence from the people since in fury he could consume them; However, Moses approached the tabernacle of the congregation and pleaded with God, saying:

“If your presence is not to go with me, do not take us out of here. And by what will it be known here that I have found favor in your sight, I and your people, except that you walk with us, and that I and your people are separated from all the people that are on the face of the earth?

And the LORD said to Moses, “I will also do this thing that you have said, because you have found favor in my eyes, and I have known you by your name.”

So if Moses, a man who found such grace before the eyes of the Father, recognized the absolute dependence on God to reach the promised land, how much more do we today need to recognize the full dependence we have on God?
