    About :

I bought GTA 5 for about 14 dollars. It was during a Steam sale and I’m not regretting it. At first I was little bit afraid. I love GTA. I played all of them and they were all great. But this one got mixed reviews. I’m also pessimistic about the quality of recent games. Most do not come even close to the experience you got from older games. Usually single player is neglected and everything goes into the multiplayer part. I understand though. Companies need to make money and you can easily milk players with microtransactions. But for me this is a no go. I’m beginning to feel that the whole microtransaction things is backfiring as well. But enough about that!

I bought GTA 5 for its singleplayer experience and it did not disappoint me. At first I was worried because you need to play several characters in order to progress. But it works very well. One character I recognized was Trevor. He played Simon in The Walking Dead. It’s funny that they have the same personality. Which is very brutal. They even look the same!
The story is classic GTA. The thing I love the most are the cutscenes between missions. They are often funny but very raw and brutal as well. Yet again classic GTA.

Gameplay is solid. It feels very smooth to play. Even though cars don’t feel that realistic like GTA 4. They speed up really fast. When you crash or damage your car, it does not look as spectacular as its predecessor. But those are just minor flaws. You have a whole arsenal of guns you can mess around with. My favorite so far is the grenade launcher. You can also upgrade and pimp your guns and vehicles.

One thing I also want to emphasize is that Rockstar respected it’s GTA history. GTA 5 has been made by people who played the previous games within the series. How do I know this? When playing the missions you get nostalgic. One mission I played the other day, was when I had to go to Grove Street. I thought: Wait a minute… I know that place. Indeed it was back to San Andreas! There are also references to GTA 4.

For me, the length of a game is very important. Especially if you buy games only for singeplayer, like me. Luckily, this will entertain you for many many hours. Currently I’m at 24 hours and counting. But I only completed the main story for about 30% so I still have a long way to go.

All in all, I would definitely recommend buying GTA 5. It has everything and I have yet to touch the online part. You could wait for a sale which will bring price down to about 15 euro.

In the video I messed around a bit and showed you basic gameplay and several types of guns and cars.

    Cheers!
