One of the things in nature that I like most are jellyfish and I am fascinated by their dance in the water, as if they hear a music that humans do not, and move to the beat of it.

In this design I mix the beauty of jellyfish with the dance of a dancer jumping into the depths of the ocean. I tried to show these movements in slow motion.

Design process

The design is made with 3 images and in 16 layers.

For the background I used an image of jellyfish in the sea, from which I made 6 layers in different positions and scales, making it look like they are moving and using normal blending, brightening and focal light.

Then I selected the dancer and placed it in different positions with fusions linear overexposure, lighten, subtract and luminosity.

On top of the dancer I placed the image of a large jellyfish, previously erasing some of the background with focal light blending.

Again I placed the dancer on a larger scale and on another side of the design with focal light and darker colour fusions.

Finally I duplicated the large jellyfish on top of the last dancer in three layers, deforming its shape in all three layers and with fusions, linear light and strong light.

The animation is completely done in After Effects, working the opacity of each layer and adding lights in the form of clouds for a better contrast.

Una de las cosas de la naturaleza que más me gustan son las medusas y me fascina su danza en el agua, como si ellas escucharan una música que los seres humanos no, y se movieran al compás de la misma.

En este diseño mezclo la belleza de las medusas con la danza de una bailarina saltando dentro de las profundidades del océano. Traté de mostrar esos movimientos en cámara lenta.

Proceso del diseño

El diseño esta realizado con 3 imágenes y en 16 capas.

Para el fondo utilicé una imagen de medusas en el mar, de la cual realicé 6 capas en distintas posiciones y escalas, asemejando que se mueven y usando fusiones normales, aclarar y luz focal.

Luego seleccioné la bailarina y la coloqué en distintas posiciones con fusiones sobreexposición lineal, aclarar, restar y luminosidad.

Sobre la bailarina coloqué la imagen una medusa grande, borrando previamente algo del fondo con fusión de luz focal.

Nuevamente coloqué a la bailarina en una escala más grande y a otro lado del diseño con fusiones luz focal y color más oscuro.

Finalmente duplique la medusa grande sobre la última bailarina en tres capas, deformando su forma en las tres capas y con fusiones, luz lineal y luz fuerte.

La animación está realizada completamente en After Effects, trabajando la opacidad de cada capa y agregando luces en forma de nubes para un mejor contraste.
