My 1st of May at the Cappeller Wildlife Park in Cartigliano, Vicenza

Hi everyone, it was almost by chance that I spent May 1st at the Cappeller Wildlife Park in Cartigliano, Vicenza.

As the official website mentions, the Cappeller Wildlife Park is a 40,000 m2 zoo that houses hundreds of animal species such as monkeys, ostriches, kangaroos, ungulates, birds of prey...

It is also a highly appreciated botanical garden with more than 500 species of tree species.

Inside it is also possible to visit the Cappeller Museum Foundation which I have not visited but I will certainly do so in the future. It is a natural history museum spread over two floors.

The first room is dedicated to prehistory with life-size reconstructions of environments, animals and hominids, then continues with the room of invertebrates with enlarged models, such as ants of over 3 meters and finally the rooms of the continents with over 4700 specimens of animals, a among the richest national collections.

Overall, a really interesting place to spend an afternoon!

Ciao a tutti, è stato quasi per caso che ho passato il 1° maggio al Parco Faunistico Cappeller a Cartigliano, Vicenza.

Come cita il sito ufficale il Parco Faunistico Cappeller è un giardino zoologico di 40.000 mq che ospita al suo interno centinaia di specie animali come scimmie, struzzi, canguri, ungulati, rapaci…

È anche un apprezzatissimo orto botanico con più di 500 specie di essenze arboree.

All’interno è possibile visitare anche la Fondazione Museo Cappeller che io non ho visitato ma lo farò sicuramente in futuro. Si tratta di un museo di storia naturale che si sviluppa su due piani.

La prima sala è dedicata alla preistoria con ricostruzioni a grandezza naturale di ambienti, animali ed ominidi, prosegue poi con la sala degli invertebrati con modelli ingigantiti, come formiche di oltre 3 metri e infine le sale dei continenti con oltre 4700 esemplari di animali, una tra le più ricche collezioni nazionali.

Insomma un posto veramente interessante dove passare un pomeriggio tra animali e bellissime piante!!
