Este registro audiovisual, es el ensayo previo a una pieza de danza contemporánea y performance que se presentó en el baño de chicas del sótano del antiguo Ateneo de Caracas, lo que actualmente es la Universidad Nacional Experimental de las Artes, Unearte, como parte de la semana de la Danza, año 20XX.

El concepto principal de la pieza realizada fue mostrar lo que las chicas hacen en el baño cuando nadie las ve.

El ejercicio para arrancar la construcción de la pieza fue realizar junto a las chicas que participarían, una lluvia de ideas con todas las actividades que realizaban en un baño público o de casa. El resultado no lanzó mucho material que explorar. Así que indagamos en el universo emocional, reprimido y censurado, de las vivencias que algunas de las chicas, hacemos en el baño. El guión se hiló de la siguiente manera, empezando por lo más común como cepillarse los dientes, peinarse, maquillarse, lavarse los pies en el lavamanos, llorar frente al espejo, hablar sola, luego se diréccionó hacia lo que es poco compartido, como comer en la poceta, vomitar, orinar paradas en la poceta, convulsionar, bañarse en frenesí y mansturbarse. Ésta última acción, es el ejercicio que se ve reflejado en el video y que analizaremos a continuación.

The exercise to start the construction of the piece was to carry out, together with the girls who would participate, a brainstorm with all the activities that they carried out in a public bathroom or at home. The result did not release much material to explore. So we inquire into the emotional universe, repressed and censored, of the experiences that some of the girls have in the bathroom. The script was spun as follows, starting with the most common things like brushing teeth, combing hair, putting on makeup, washing feet in the sink, crying in front of the mirror, talking alone, then moving towards what is little shared, such as eating in the well, vomit, urinate standing in the well, convulse, bathe in frenzy and become turmoil. This last action is the exercise that is reflected in the video and that we will analyze below.

Dentro de la Semiología, que es “el estudio de los sistemas de comunicación por medio de señales no lingüisticas”, cita del libro Viena, Luis. Semiología Corporal, escrito por Melir Ramos López. Se habla sobre el universo personal que construye el intérprete a la hora de representar una pieza de danza contemporánea. En ella el cuerpo pasa de ser significante a ser significado, es decir pasa de ser el medio que comunica, ha ser el concepto directamente, ya que representa en carne propia el sentido de la idea que se expresa, no es una idea ajena a él, y en caso de ser ajena, impersonal, (por venir de un director o coreógrafo) igual la representa desde una abstracción que parte del cuerpo, y es éste el que carga de significado todo el entramado subjetivo que se aprecia en la obra. Sinembargo, a pesar de ser un universo particular, no cotidiano el que se retrata, los signos que se representan estan cargados de un sentido más amplio, pudiendo ser entendidos en un nivel sensorial, más no racional.
