I am happy to share in the Hive Open Mic Week 168, where we will explore the theme: "Music for Children" proposed by the friend and the recent featured artist of our community: @aly.squid. Today I share with you my interpretation of a song titled "A Child's Prayer" composed by Janice Kapp Perry. The melody is simple and easy to sing. It's in the key of G major and the range is only a fifth, making it accessible. The melody is also very repetitive, which helps children learn it quickly. The rhythm is simple and direct, with a basic time signature of 4/4. The song is mostly in double meter, with a few brief passages in triple meter. The lyrics are inspired by a difficult moment in her life, in which she could not use her left hand and play the piano. She needed to understand why they were passing these tests, and that was the answer to a prayer. Later, she made a children's version.

Me siento feliz por compartir en el Hive Open Mic Semana 168, donde exploraremos la temática: "Música para Niños" propuesta por la amiga y la artista destacada reciente de nuestra comunidad: @aly.squid. Hoy les comparto mi interpretación de una canción titulada «Oración de un niño» compuesta por Janice Kapp Perry. La melodía es sencilla y fácil de cantar. Está en la tonalidad de sol mayor y el rango es solo una quinta, lo que la hace accesible. La melodía también es muy repetitiva, lo que ayuda a los niños a aprenderla rápidamente. El ritmo es simple y directo, con un compás básico de 4/4. La canción está mayoritariamente en métrica doble, con unos breves pasajes en métrica triple. La letra está inspirada en un momento difícil de su vida, en la cual no podía usar la mano izquierda y tocar el piano. Ella necesitaba entender por qué estaban pasando esas pruebas, y esa fue la respuesta a una oración. Posteriormente, realizo una versión infantil.

If there's one thing I'm sure of, it's that God listens to children's prayers. There are so many beautiful things that we can learn from them. For many years I have had the opportunity to teach and I love his willingness and humility to learn and listen. I remember my first teaching experience where I was played by a group of little ones, at first a child came up to me and said: I'm bored. I loved his sincerity, and so we started doing various activities where we danced, sang and painted. The next day they waited for me with great emotion and a hug, because they discovered that the music classes were fun. One of their most valuable lessons is love and forgiveness. Adults have a hard time forgiving. God loves children, and if we are attentive and willing to learn, we will be better people.

Si hay algo de lo cual estoy seguro es que Dios escucha las oraciones de los niños. Hay tantas cosas bonitas que podemos aprender de ellos. Por muchos años he tenido la oportunidad de dar clases y me encanta su disposición y humildad para aprender, y escuchar. Recuerdo mi primera experiencia docente donde me toco un grupo de pequeños, al principio se acercó un niño y me dijo: Estoy aburrido. Me encantó su sinceridad, y entonces comenzamos a realizar varias actividades donde bailamos, cantamos y pintamos. Al siguiente día me esperaban con mucha emoción y un abrazo, porque descubrieron que las clases de música eran divertidas. Una de las lecciones más valiosas de ellos, son el amor y el perdón. A los adultos nos cuesta mucho perdonar. Dios ama a los niños, y si estamos atentos, y estamos dispuestos a aprender, seremos mejores personas.
