GPU stands for Graphics Processing Unit. It is a specialized electronic circuit designed to rapidly manipulate and alter memory to accelerate the creation of images in a frame buffer intended for output to a display device. GPUs are commonly used in video games to render graphics, as well as in CAD (Computer-Aided Design), scientific simulations, and other computationally intensive tasks such as machine learning and cryptocurrency mining. They excel at parallel processing, making them well-suited for tasks that can be broken down into multiple smaller tasks that can be executed simultaneously.
