A week or so ago I stated that "We are marketing hive wrong". I did have a couple of people point things out and did some serious rethinking. They are right and wrong. And I was too! At least on Twitter, since thats the only social media I can stand outside of hive, there is an plethora of people pushing the hashtags of hive, hivefixesthis, getonhive, etc. Which is all fine and dandy for the tech geeks, crypto nerds and business people. And I understand that it is still new and people working to get things going.
I also understand that many of the current active users are those kinds of people. So pushing it to those kinds of people are easy and could help hive in the long run with development. But it will be all for nothing if there is nobody to use it.
I also heard that someone wants to hire a marketing agency to push hive. While I think it would be beneficial in that approach to the tech/business side of hive it will not work gaining regular "average" users.
But we need more "average" people on hive.
More people like myself and my cohosts Johnny Gearjammer and Radioman. I want to see my daughter, friends from work, my family, everybody on hive! But telling them to go to hiveonboard.com isnt going to cut it. They wont understand and wont try to understand the difference from Facebook and Twitter.
My idea is to tackle this on multiple fronts. Keep it up with the techy geeks and crypto nerds. But we need to assemble a team to start hitting the normal people. Just focus on how much the old web 2.0 has used us as products and are now trying to control what our opinions are. Taking away our free speech. How to replace those old web 2.0 sites with these new Web 3.0 apps.
I am literally going insane hearing these talk show hosts and other people talking about "how great it will be when Parler comes back" or "Im on Gab now". Or posting a video on YouTube bitching about how YouTube took down their video. They say "Oh its gonna be great when Parler is on it's own infrastructure (servers)" but nobody is thinking about the four most used web browsers used to access that Parler or Gab server.
You people do realize that Those browsers are the very same cabal that took it down the firt time around. The browers are "Google"Chrome, "Mozilla" FireFox, "Apple" Safari and "Microsoft" Edge. What makes you think they wont just blacklist there ip's and their ssl certs? Then what? The average person wont have any clue as to what to do.
This is where we make hive shine! Tell them about Ecensy, ausitbank and 3Speak's desktop app. Dapplr and Ecensy on mobile. How to hit PeakD and Hive blog through the use of Kiwi mobile app.
I can see a whole future that there is a plethora of desktop apps to make it possible that there is no web browser needed to interact with hive.
You want to watch a video? Open 3Speak.
You want to read some posts and post something of your own? Open Ecensy or ausitbank. Hell ausitbank's is open source. Fork it and make it your own!
There has never been a more opportune time tget the average person on hive. We just need to not make it so damn technical. We must stand firm and never give up on free speech, especially if its speech we dont agree with. Everyone has the right to say and think what they want.
