Bitcoin is Bitcoin. The value is there simply because of the brand. This was a unique time and place in history. Even though it was forked anumber of times, it is still Bitcoin. It does not matter what is built on it. Bitcoin is still Bitcoin.
In this video I discuss how other blockchains have their value elsewhere. That means if they are attacked, applications and the community can move elsewhere. This is where a fork is so valuable. It is a way to counter any point of vulnerability.
