Rubiah Island is an island located in the city of Sabang, Aceh province. This island is to the northwest of Weh Island. The name Rubiah comes from one of the 44 aulia in the city of Sabang, namely Ummi Siti Rubiah. Rubiah Island is the main destination in Aceh with its underwater beauty.
Even though it is uninhabited, Rubiah Island has now been transformed into an Aceh tourist attraction that must be visited by tourists on holiday in Aceh. Friends who have a hobby of snorkeling will certainly be at a loss if they don't visit Aceh, which is famous for its underwater natural beauty. There are 14 of the 15 marine biota protected in Indonesia on this island.
On this island there is only a small food stall which is only open from morning to evening. You could even say that this island is still uninhabited, so it is truly unspoiled. Even though it is uninhabited, the beauty of this island, especially the beauty of its underwater park, has invited many tourists, both domestic and foreign, to come here.
Apart from being a destination for local and international tourists, Rubiah Island is also used as a research site for marine biota such as coral reefs and coral fish. Of the 15 types of marine biota protected by the Indonesian government, 14 of them are found in the Rubiah Island Marine Park.
