The downbeat is the first quarter note within each measure of written music. It’s common for chord changes to favor this downbeat. For this song, “Cumbia Transmission 1st Gear” the slide guitar will help reveal the down beats. The slide guitar is simultaneously trying to mimic the sound of first gear in a manual transmission gearbox. In my opinion, it sounds like first gear is being abused.
