Tenía yo mucho tiempo deseando jugar Gris, un videojuego de plataformas con gráficos hermosos y una banda sonora épica en todos los sentidos. Hace poco me animé a adquirirlo, pues ya había visto yo varios Gameplays que lograron cautivarme por la belleza de este Indie de origen español. En esta ocasión les comparto mis primeras impresiones, ¿vale la pena comprar Gris? Creo que con este video podrás comprobarlo.

I had long wanted to play Gris, a platform video game with beautiful graphics and an epic soundtrack in every way. I recently decided to buy it, because I had already seen several Gameplays that managed to captivate me by the beauty of this Indie of Spanish origin. This time I share with you my first impressions, is it worth buying Gris? I think with this video you can check it out.

Una muchacha está en lo más alto de una torre con forma de mano. De pronto, despierta, y entonces comienza a cantar y su voz impregna el viento con armonía y belleza. Sin embargo, sus cuerdas vocales dejan de transmitir la dulce nota y, ante la destrucción del templo semejante a una manopla, ella cae en el vacío sin alguna explicación sobre la ausencia de su habla cantante…. ¿Eso significa su fin?

Es donde nosotros, como jugadores hábiles, debemos intervenir. El videojuego tiene una perfecta combinación visual y sonora: tranquila, pacífica, misteriosa…. Un retrato sobre un mundo de colores en ruinas. Mientras avanzamos por los primeros niveles hallamos escombros enterrados en la arena, y ahí, flotando sobre templos agrietados, las luces blancas esperan ser recolectadas para acompañarnos en la aventura. Hay Puzles, pero por ahora son sencillos.

A girl is at the top of a tower shaped like a hand. Suddenly, she awakens, and then she begins to sing and her voice permeates the wind with harmony and beauty. However, her vocal cords cease to transmit the sweet note and, upon the destruction of the mitten-like temple, she falls into the void without any explanation for the absence of her singing speech.... Does that mean her end?

That's where we, as skilled players, must intervene. The video game has a perfect visual and sound combination: calm, peaceful, mysterious.... A portrait of a colorful world in ruins. As we advance through the first levels we find rubble buried in the sand, and there, floating above cracked temples, white lights await to be collected to accompany us on the adventure. There are puzzles, but for now they are simple.

Gris es un título Indie muy intuitivo. Al principio el videojuego no informa al jugador sobre el manejo de controles, algo que es incómodo. Desde la PC puedes desplazarte en las teclas “A-D” y saltar en la barra espaciadora. El mouse no tiene ninguna utilidad. Los escenarios son visibles mayormente en 2D con fondos resultandos en la profundidad 3D. No obstante, esto no le quita nada de belleza a una obra jugable con bastante ingenio.

En Gris recordarás títulos como Sky: Niños de la Luz o Journey. Estos videojuegos intentan ser más sensoriales, llevando al jugador por una aventura de sonidos, ambiente y sensaciones gráficas alucinantes. Para ser mi primera vez jugando este Indie, debo aplaudirlo con de pie. ¡Me ha enganchado! Puedes conocer un poco más de este en el Gameplay.

Gris is a very intuitive Indie title. At the beginning the game does not inform the player about the controls, something that is uncomfortable. From the PC you can scroll on the "A-D" keys and jump on the space bar. The mouse is of no use. The scenarios are visible mostly in 2D with backgrounds resulting in 3D depth. However, this doesn't take anything away from the beauty of a playable work with a lot of ingenuity.

In Grey you will remember titles like Sky: Children of Light or Journey. These video games try to be more sensory, taking the player through an adventure of sounds, atmosphere and mind-blowing graphical sensations. For my first time playing this Indie, I have to give it a standing ovation - I'm hooked! You can learn a little more about it in the Gameplay.
