Hola queridos amigo de Hive Music Festival, comienza la nueva semana, espero esta vez sí pueda completar las tres rondas y no haya ningún inconveniente.

Les cuento que cuando era pequeño más o menos en la edad de 6 años comencé a ver clases del instrumento conocido como Cuatro Venezolano, mi papá hizo un esfuerzo en ese entonces para comprarme mi primer cuatro, el cual me duró mucho tiempo hasta que un día se golpeó y se partió.

Dure poco tiempo tocando cuatro, ya que a pocos años me cambiaron de instrumento a tocar la mandolina ya que mi profesor así lo decidió, y bueno es con la que acostumbro a traer la mayoría de mis presentaciones en este Festival.

A pesar de estar enfocado en la mandolina, hubo un tiempo que quise retomar mis estudios del cuatro venezolano de manera autodidacta, y bueno ya que no tenía cuatro, un amigo me prestó uno que el tenía y no utilizaba que estaba viejito y de hecho tenía un hueco en la parte de abajo, gracias a ese cuatro pude aprender a defenderme un poco más tocando este instrumento.

Lo único malo es que la calidad del sonido no era la esperada, y ya que tenía un hueco se desafinaba y daba mal sonido en algunos trastes, pero bueno gracias a Dios hace poco mi papá me hizo un pequeño regalo, me compro un cuatro que es bastante básico pero está en mejores condiciones y suena mucho mejor, lo único que me falta es cambiarle las cuerdas.

Me dio mucha risa que cuando le tire la foto a los dos cuatros, son prácticamente parecidos, el cuatro prestado y el nuevo cuatro.

Decidí traerles estas semanas, música con este instrumento, para desafiarme a mi y bueno recordar temas del pasado que ahorita se me dificultan hacerlos por la agilidad. Les traje para esta semana número uno un tema compuesto por el Maestro Antonio Lauro, llamado Natalia, es un tema que muchos músicos en Venezuela consideran difícil, y que en las universidades de música lo toman como un examen final, yo ya me lo sabía en la mandolina, y en esta ocasión se los traigo con el cuatro venezolano.

Todavía hay detalles que corregir en mi ejecución porque se escucha un poco sucio, pero este fue mi mejor intento, el tema está en la rítmica de vals venezolano, y la primera parte la ejecute en forma de punteo y arpegio, trate después de agregarle algo de rítmica, espero les guste.

I tell you that when I was little around the age of 6 years old I started to see classes of the instrument known as Venezuelan Cuatro, my dad made an effort at that time to buy me my first cuatro, which lasted me a long time until one day it was hit and broke.

I didn't last long playing cuatro, because a few years later I changed instruments to play the mandolin because my teacher decided so, and well, it's the one I use to bring most of my presentations in this Festival.

Despite being focused on the mandolin, there was a time that I wanted to resume my studies of the Venezuelan cuatro in a self-taught way, and well since I had no cuatro, a friend lent me one that he had and did not use that was old and in fact had a hole in the bottom, thanks to that cuatro I could learn to defend myself a little more playing this instrument.

The only bad thing is that the sound quality was not as expected, and since it had a hole it was out of tune and gave bad sound in some frets, but thank God recently my dad gave me a small gift, he bought me a cuatro that is pretty basic but is in better condition and sounds much better, the only thing I need is to change the strings.

It made me laugh when I took a picture of the two cuatros, they are practically the same, the borrowed cuatro and the new cuatro.

I decided to bring you these weeks, music with this instrument, to challenge myself and remember songs from the past that now I find difficult to play because of my agility. I brought you for this week number one a song composed by Maestro Antonio Lauro, called Natalia, it is a song that many musicians in Venezuela consider difficult, and that in the music universities they take it as a final exam, I already knew it on the mandolin, and this time I bring it to you with the Venezuelan cuatro.

There are still details to correct in my performance because it sounds a little dirty, but this was my best attempt, the theme is in the rhythm of Venezuelan waltz, and the first part I executed in the form of punteo and arpeggio, then try to add some rhythm, I hope you like it.
