Mi lugar favorito en mi ciudad: El centro LGBTIQ de Mérida, Venezuela | Tiempo de turismo | Vlog Challenge día 3.

Hello everyone! How are you? Today I present you my video number 3, in the vlog challenge created by @arlettemsalase and @tripode.

First of all, I want to apologize for not continuing to publish the videos of this challenge, which I have been recording little by little, is that I have focused on getting my own project, apart.

I also want to apologize for not putting English subtitles on this video, time has not caught up with me today. However, I know that my dear English-speaking readers will understand what the vlog is about, by telling it here.

Day three of this vlog challenge consists of sightseeing around your city, recording your favorite place in particular. In my case, my favorite place in Mérida is the LGBTIQ+ center where various meetings and discussions take place regarding the human rights of the sexually diverse community and women. It is also a beautiful café.

Mérida has many good places to go, which is why it is one of the most touristic states in Venezuela. It is part of the Andean mountain range of South America, has the highest point above sea level in the country, and contains a great diversity of landscapes and cultures. However, and as I mention in the video, I'm on a budget and I want to show you something that may seem everyday, but for me represents a great trip, because I don't do it every day.

Ante todo, me quiero disculpar por no continuar publicando los vídeos de este reto, que he ido grabando poco a poco, es que me he concentrado en sacar mi propio proyecto, a parte.

También me quiero disculpar por no poner subtítulos al inglés en este vídeo, el tiempo no me ha alcanzado hoy. Sin embargo, sé que mis queridos lectores anglosajones entenderán de qué se trata el vlog, al contarlo por aquí.

El día tres de este vlog challenge consiste en turistear por tu ciudad, grabando en especial tu lugar favorito. En mi caso, mi lugar favorito de Mérida es el centro LGBTIQ+ donde se llevan a cabo varias reuniones y discusiones con respecto a los derechos humanos de la comunidad sexo diversa y de las mujeres. También es un hermoso café.

Mérida tiene muchos lugares buenos a donde ir, por algo es de los estados más turísticos de Venezuela. Es parte de la cordillera andina de Sur América, tiene el punto más alto sobre el nivel del mar en el país, y contiene una gran diversidad de paisajes y culturas. Sin embargo, y como lo menciono en el vídeo, soy de poco presupuesto y les quiero mostrar algo, que puede parecer cotidiano, pero que para mí representa un gran viaje, porque no lo hago todos los días.

I recorded this vlog on Tuesday, July 20, 2021, about three months ago. That day I had to attend two events in different places and at different times. The first event was the screening of a mini documentary about the history of the LGBTIQ community, recorded and produced in Merida. This was screened at the first edition of Festidirverso, a festival described as "an artistic window for LGBTIQ+ rights and diversity, in union with cinema and theater".

Then, in the afternoon I went to an event at my favorite place, the LGBTIQ center, this event was a forum called "Dissident Body" where they talked from a feminist perspective about the canons of beauty, self-esteem and the violence to which our bodies are exposed.

This day was very liberating for me. I felt at peace with myself. I hope you liked it as much as I did, be entertained and have a lot of fun.

Este vlog lo grabé el Martes 20 de julio del 2021, aproximadamente hace tres meses. Ese día tenía que asistir a dos eventos en diferentes lugares y a diferentes horas. El primer evento fue la proyección de un mini documental sobre la historia de la comunidad LGBTIQ, grabado y producido en Mérida. Este fue proyectado en la primera edición del Festidirverso, un festival descrito como “una ventana artística por los derechos LGBTIQ+ y la diversidad, en unión al cine y al teatro”.

Luego, en la tarde fui a un evento en mi lugar favorito, el centro LGBTIQ, este evento fue un foro llamado “Cuerpo disidentes” donde se habló, desde la perspectiva feminista, sobre los cánones de belleza, el autoestima y la violencia a la que nuestros cuerpos están expuestos.

Este día fue muy liberador para mí. Me sentía en paz conmigo misma. Espero les haya gustado tanto como a mí, que se entretengan y se diviertan mucho.
