Here we come to another week in the Hive Open Mic community where we showcase our talents in singing with different and lovely voices all over the world. This is my entry to the week's theme.
The week's theme #116 says “Trumpet Sound”. I was at first, confused as I thought I wouldn't be participating but I decided to do something, at least to match up with this week's theme as I don't want to feel odd among many participants here.
I choose the song “You raise me” by Josh Groban. It's a very popular song that was released in 2001 but today, it's an inspiring and great song that will make you feel and believe in your inner spirituality and happiness.
This song is a powerful song through faith and a way of praising God especially when you are down, sad, or depressed, knowing fully well that God is available to raise you.
I sang along with the man (Fernando Lopez) who blew the trumpet and I don't know if I did well with my voice because the high pitch isn't for me 😂😂😂 I managed to stretch my voice.
As much as I sing in Soprano, I think I need to maintain my voice level and not go beyond my ability. Lol
Just focus on the song and not my voice please 😂😂
This made me remember a little girl who presented this same song in her church and she wanted to sing with the same voice and high pitch stuff used in the song. She could have just maintained and appreciated her voice but went beyond her ability. It was really funny, but the way she sang with passion made me forget her voice and listen carefully to those lyrics and it was so touching.
When my mom died, I thought I wouldn't further my education anymore because she was the one who shouldered more of the responsibilities for us when Dad wasn't having a stable job. I dusted my certificate and went in search of a teaching Job to survive even when I have made up my mind not to further again since I don't think the salary I would be collecting would be enough to sponsor myself.
I desired to go to the University because both my two sisters were already finishing University then. In one way I never expected, God raised me through my elder sister who sent me to school and took all responsibilities on me today, I am so grateful for the grace through my sister and I would proudly say God came through for me.
So, anytime I sing this song, it reminds me of my story.
Thanks for reading
