Here comes another week in the Hive Open Mic community where I bring to you what I have recorded in line with the theme, "Cacao". I never heard of this word before until when I saw the theme for the week. I searched for the meaning which is "a tree that produces cacao seeds and this can be made of cocoa, cocoa butter, chocolate etc". I tried looking up a song to relate with it but I couldn't at first. Searching for more meaning, I got to know the Greek word for it is "Theobroma" which means "food of the gods".
The song I picked is from Maverick City titled "You keep on getting better". I love this song and wanted to relate to this theme which I did metaphorically. The lyrics of this song talk about the process and growth of cultivating and transforming cacao beans into chocolate. Farmers are always excited when they see the tree growing gradually which requires patience, nurturing and endurance to produce delicious snacks and meals for the world to consume and make use of.
The lyrics is relating to growth, harvesting, seasons, patience, transformation, consistency, and the result brings blessing to all farmers who are in the business of growing cacao trees and seeds. Farmers are always happy when they see the growth and development of cacao trees and appreciate the wonders of nature which is a beautiful creation to mankind.
When it comes to growth, cacao trees are influenced by different seasons and this is where farmers need to exercise a lot of patience throughout the whole stages till when they are ripe enough. Cacao trees go through different steps which are: fermentation, drying, roasting, grinding and conching. While waiting and being patient, they have the hope and belief that their waiting won't be in vain as in the end, their efforts are rewarded greatly.
As the meaning also translates to being "food of the gods", this song is directly an expression of my gratitude to God, making me profess that in all seasons of my life, God has been good. Realising His faithfulness in my life is something I am ever grateful for and this song is a way to give Him what He desires which is my praise to Him. This is God's food too.
