    About :

The second episode of Hive Humpday Hangout is over and I have to say it was again a lot of fun in the Ecency Discord on Wednesday evening! I was a bit cautious after the first show as everyone had too many nice words for it, and the best proof of fun (Hmm... POF... maybe we should copyright that term 😀) was the second show... If people don't come, the first one sucked... Luckily, that wasn't the case... :)

It's interesting that the number of total participants that came to the show was exactly the same as last week, but we had some new people in the chat and ON THE chat! The topic was Hive Meetups in general, pros and cons (are there any?), and as everyone who attended any HIVE meetup in the past had a lot of fun, we began with planning the next ones...

We were talking about issues, problems, and excuses for not going to meetups, but I have to admit, most of them were valid... The general conclusion was that meetups should be announced at least 2-3 months before the event, especially for the big ones like Hive Fest, for example... People need time to organize themselves, take free days at work, collect enough money for the trip, find accommodation, buy plane tickets, etc. All that requires time and if people are traveling with the family, all those issues are multiplied...

We got some great ideas for organizing a Europe (Hive) Fest which could be done along with the traditional HiveFest, and now with HiveBeeCon, it would be nice to have at least 2-3 yearly gatherings... Of course, besides these big events, attending smaller, local meetups is encouraged as they can inspire, motivate, and help a lot with onboarding...

In the show, I have shared my personal experience regarding meetups, starting with the first one that I organized way before HIVE and crypto, almost 30 years ago through a website that I owned... I had an Internet forum where people were discussing about Formula 1 and motorsport in general, but everything was "just" online, until the first meetup.... and then the second, and third...

With HIVE, I had a couple of small (direct) meetups with 1-2 Hivians max, and then a big one, the Hive Fest in Amsterdam last year... Unfortunately, I missed the last HF in Mexico, but I went to the "second best" this year, which was a HiveBeeCon in Krakow!

Not everyone in the audience was lucky to attend a Hive meetup (yet), but those who were, shared their experience... A few weeks ago, @palomap3 had a meetup with her Hivian friends from Venezuela and Spain, so she shared her experience too! It was great to hear the confirmation of the "positive feeling" after the meetup from Paloma! It's not just me saying that! 😃

@incublus shared his hopes and wishes of creating a Turkish meetup in the Spring of next year, and we are rooting for him to make it happen! We also had @travoved in voice where he shared his views about meetups!

@melinda010100 sent a couple of direct invitations during the show and one of the @coldbeetrootsoup's chefs, @minigunner came to visit us on the mic! As he was in Amsterdam's Hive Fest last year and held recently a meetup in the Netherlands, he shared some insights and ideas for future meetups!

But, why am I writing all this when you can listen to the whole show as I have recorded it? Also, you can follow the conversation that was happening in Discord chat during the show!

In the end, I would like to thank everyone who took part in the show and made it so great! This time we had on the show: @foxkoit, @melinda010100, @mypathtofire, @palomap3, @incublus, @les90, @travoved, and @minigunner (Cold Beet Root Soup)... @sacra97 was peaking into the chat, but just for a couple of seconds... 😃

Thank you guys and girls! As a sign of appreciation, I will send some LEN tokens! You can pair them with LENM tokens, add liquidity to the diesel pool, and earn rewards! If you want to find out more about the project behind it, check out the @liotes account or visit the Liotes website... Of course, if you are not interested in it, you can sell tokens on the Hive-Engine market...

To encourage more people to come on the mic, I have sent additional 100 Ecency POINTS to people who shared their stories with us (@palomap3, @incublus, @minigunner, and @travoved)!

    Thank you for your time,

    ~ph~
