My Favourite Thing about This Time of the Year & $1-Million Question – Ladies of Hive #55

Oooouuuhhhh! Can Christmas come any sooner? LOL... I am that one person that plays Christmas carols/song all year round- my folks are tired of me…

But here are my thoughts on this question.

Question 1:

1. November reminds me that Christmas is around the corner and ushers in my favourite time of the year, December, which also makes it a favourite time for me.

2. The weather is another thrill, as this period is usually cool. Although, you have to oil and moisturize often or you will be looking crusty as hell from the harmattan wind.

3. My family that stays abroad get to come over with their kids for holiday and it’s such a big house with a lot of cooking and celebration going on.

4. I get to sing a lot more as a solo artist during home carols and concerts, and sometimes I get paid while doing it.

5. There are a lot of fun events back-to-back and you cannot run out of where to go or what to do.

I look forward to this time of the year this 2021 as I lost my dad around this time last year and Christmas 2020 was a sad one.

Question 2:

1-million dollars is a lot of money. It is equivalent to N410,460,000 as of today (03.11.2021).

Let me give you a quick gist of my proposed plans…

A. First of the excitement alone would be off the roof, I would ball my eyes out but would definitely show my gratitude.

B. I will give 10% of the funds as tithe across different churches – mine inclusive.

C. I will set aside 20% of the funds as emergency funds for the rainy days.

D. I will give away 25% of the funds to the following:

• Motherless Babies/Orphanage Homes
• Old Peoples Homes
• Home of the Disabled
• Scholarships for Education and Skill Acquisition
• Supporting Causes/Initiative Protecting the Girl Child and Women
• Supporting Eco-friendly/Sustainability Causes

E. I will find out what business ideas (new and existing) my siblings and two of my closest friends have and support them with 20% of the funds. My only surviving parent- my mom will also benefit from this pool of fund as well.

F. I will invest the remaining 25% into diverse sectors of the economy amongst low, middle and high risk investment options such as Agriculture, Real Estate, Oil & Gas, Transportation & Logistics, My Hair & Restaurant Businesses, Mutual Funds, Stocks, and Cryptocurrency.
