    CHRISTMAS ABIA (CHRISTMAS IS HERE)

Hello dear friends, I am @onos-f and this is #Afri-Christmas Volume 2. This is another opportunity presented by the @afri-tunes Community to celebrate the Christmas season in an African grand style. From this afri-tunes initiative, I am very positive that people who visit the Afri-tunes community this period will get to understand how Africans appreciate the celebration of the feast of the Nativity of our Lord Jesus Christ especially with African traditional and original Christmas tunes.

My entry last year Afri-Christmas event is titled Christmas abia which means Christmas is here. This year, I will be doing another song with the same title but different tune. As a matter of fact, the lyrics of the song I'm presenting this year is original to me but the tune is gotten from one of the popular songs in the Catholic breviary used during night prayers.

I feel so excited because I had the privilege of making this entry with @wizj my own very good friend who is now a brother. I met wizj in Ibadan last week during our general assembly and when I mentioned to him that afri-tunes community is celebrating her second annual Christmas festival, he showed interest and decided to join me at the grotto with his saxophone thereby adding much colours to this entry. Cheers bro 🥂

A FEW WORDS ABOUT THE SEASON OF CHRISTMAS

Christmas indeed is here again and many people are making preparations. Decorating their homes with beautiful Christmas lights and trees 🌲, sewing new clothes for their children, traveling to meet their loved ones, buying plenty foodstuffs for the celebration. This period, I really do pity the cattle, rams and goats, especially the chickens. Well, why am I even pitying them? They are meant to be used for celebrations. Isn't that an important essence of their being? But wait, do you think they are happy to fulfil their essence in our stews and pepper soup, and banger soup and in different delicacies? Well, Jesus Christ came to take away our sins and grant us eternal life but the chickens and goats and all the animals came to take away our hunger and grant us strength to live our temporal life here on earth. 😀 Dear friends, as we celebrate Christmas with our family members, friends, loved ones and everyone around, let us celebrate in peace and joy without forgetting the the reason for the season. Cheers 🥂

    About the Song

For those who do not understand Ukwani language, the song is a simple invitation to everyone, telling them that Christmas is here again and calling on them to come together and give praise to God who sent his only song to save us all from sin and eternal damnation.
