    About :

Greetings to all members of amazing Afri-Tunes community, and welcome to my blog, hive users everywhere. I appreciate God for giving me the opportunity to participate in Afri-Tunes Week 97 and witness this day. I sang a cover of a song by Chris Delvan Gwamna. My name is Olu Thomas. I grew up loving this man's songs, and I couldn't get them out of my head.

I sang this song because, despite my best efforts, every time I tried to take another way apart from the path of the Lord, it ended in disaster. I'll love to share a story that inspires me to sing this song. There have been times when I've tried various strategies to see if I would succeed without God, but those methods have brought me sorrow that I regret at the end of it all.

The story goes like this, one day, a thieve broke into our shop and took a laptop that contained various files, some of which were student projects and some were people's work and design. My older brother's master project was on that laptop too, and he didn't back it up anywhere. He was not in the shop that day; he traveled to Benue State, Nigeria. I was so confused and not knowing what to do, a friend of mine came and made a suggestion to me that there’s a woman we can meet and she will do something so that the thieve would bring back the laptop. After hearing that, I became confused and wondered how that could be possible, if not only by some sort of power. He then said that I should give it a try. I decided to go with him because my older brother had yelled at me and I was completely confused. I went to see a sorceress with him, and even though I had never been to such a place before, at first, I was scared, but I told myself it was okay since I wouldn't be initiated into anything, but rather it would solve the problem at hand. I said I could handle it, and she asked us to enter one small room without our shoes, we went into the small room. It was dark and smoking, and I was getting dizzy and she round something on our head three times. My friend told her what was wrong when she asked us. Then she promised that she would send thunder to hit the thief, and that would caused him to drop the laptop wherever he was, but before she would do that, I would have to pay the full amount she told us before she could execute it. I told her that I did not have cash. I pleaded that she send thunder. I'll pay it when the laptop gets here. And she replied, "No, I have to pay first. It will take one to two weeks before we see the laptop," but she was confident that she would strike the man with thunder. I just smile deep inside of me and I realized then that I had made a very huge mistake. Alright, I said to her, I'll go get some money and pay for it. That was how I left that room safe.

My reason for sharing this story is this song that I sang. If you lack the ability to discern spirits, you could easily be convinced to follow any wind that blows your way, and if others are running, you might finds yourself running when you shouldn't be running too. The message of the song is that seeking and complying with God's path is the only way we can have eternal life. No matter what happens to us, we should seek his will before taking any step. That is to say, let us bring everything into obedience to Christ. No matter what we are going through in life, we should never think there is a place more safer and secure than in Christ Jesus. If letting go of a friend is necessary to stay on the correct path, then we should do just that. I've noticed that in order to access other gods or get something from them, you sometimes have to pay a huge price that you’ll regret at the end of it all; you may have to sacrifice part of your body or a loved one before you can receive the assistance they offer. However, only God is able to provide for you without requiring you to make any sacrifices or give anything away because Jesus paid the price for us. Glory to God!

I appreciate you reading my post; please like, comment, and reblog it.

    LYRICS
How can You walk when You don’t know the way of the wind,
How can You run when You dont know the way of the spirit,
How can You fly when You don’t know the way of the wind,
the power at work in You.

Bringing everything in obedience to Christ

How can You walk when You don’t know the way of the wind
How can You run when You dont know the way of the spirit
How can You fly when You don’t know the way of the wind
the power at work in You

Bringing everything in obedience to Christ
its bringing everything in obedience to Christ
swallow Your pride tonight come to the school of the spirit
don’t You know in his hands is the keys to eternal life
a little here and a little there till the day will dawn
    its at work in me

Bringing everything in obedience to christ

He is the Holy Ghost the spirit of the living God
he is the Holy Ghost the sceptre of the King of kings
he is the Holy Ghost the seal of the age to come
Bringing everything in obedience to Christ
