Tapipa a Windward Town/Tapipa un Pueblo de Barlovento[ENG/ESP]

We are still here in Barlovento, in the Tapipa Lands, and the truth is that I feel very fortunate to be able to be in this magical place.

Aún andamos aquí en Barlovento, en las Tierras de Tapipa, y la verdad es que me siento muy afortunado de poder estar en este mágico lugar.

Tapipa is a beautiful town located fifteen minutes from the capital of the municipality of Acevedo called Caucagua, is the hometown of my father and where much of my large family lives, surnamed Perez and Palacios.

Tapipa es un hermoso pueblo ubicado a quince minutos de la capital de municipio Acevedo llamada Caucagua, es el pueblo natal de mi Papá y donde vive gran parte de mi numerosa familia, de apellido Pérez y Palacios.

Normally, I always visited the town on vacation, spending weeks on these streets running or riding my bike, the freedom I felt here was very different from the city, where the streets are more dangerous.

Normalmente, siempre visitaba al pueblo en vacaciones, pasaba semanas por estas calles corriendo o manejando bicicleta, la libertad que sentía aquí era muy diferente a la ciudad, donde las calles son más peligrosas.

One house in this beautiful town that I could not miss is the house of my grandmother Belén Palacios, who is considered the Queen of the Quitiplas, an instrument made of bamboo, which is used in the drums in the various cultural manifestations of my beloved Barlovento and my land of Tapipa.

Una casa que de este hermoso pueblo que no podía dejar de visitar es la casa de mi abuela Belén Palacios, la cual es considerada como la Reina del Quitiplas, un instrumento realizado con bambú, el cual se utiliza en los tambores dentro de la diversas manifestaciones culturales de mi querido Barlovento y de mi tierra de Tapipa.

Here we can see a wooden sculpture of my beloved grandmother Belén, part of the tributes that have been made since her physical departure.

Aquí podemos ver una escultura de madera de mi querida abuela Belén, parte de los homenajes que se han realizado desde su partida física.

Something very interesting about all the houses in Tapipa, is that they all have a back, this is the name given to the back part of the house that connects to a plot of land where people usually plant their crops.

Algo muy interesante de todas las casas de Tapipa, es que todas tienen un fondo, así se le llama a la parte de atrás de la casa que conecta con un terreno donde las personas suelen sembrar.

After touring my beloved grandmother's home, I shared some time with my three siblings, which I enjoyed very much, and then I asked the whole family to get together to take a family picture in front of the house.

Después de recorrer el hogar de mi querida abuela, compartir un rato con mis tres hermanos, lo cual me agrado mucho y posteriormente le pedí a toda la familia que nos juntáramos para tomarnos una foto todos en familia en frente de la casa.
