Mi nombre es María Gabriela Lucena, si estás aquí leyendo mi “Introduce Myself" Déjame darte las gracias y la Bienvenida a saber más cosas sobre mí, mi trayectoria musical, datos sobre Medicina la cual es mi carrera universitaria y como estas dos pasiones siendo tan diferentes pueden llegar a tener un vínculo como lo fue mi proyecto de Musicoterapia en Pacientes Oncológicos Adultos.

My name is María Gabriela Lucena , if you are here reading my "Introduce Myself" Let me thank you and welcome you to know more about me, my musical career, facts about Medicine which is my university career and how these two passions being so different can come to have a link as it was my project of Music Therapy in Adult Oncology Patients.

Antes de presentarme quiero darle las gracias a mi querida amiga @Andreaguitarart (una increíble guitarrista), quien me enseñó esta gran comunidad y junto a uno de sus amigos @dimeilaz, súper amable, quien me orientó para poder estar acá y mostrarles gran parte de mí a través de la música. Estoy muy feliz de estar aquí, es algo nuevo para mí y además, me alegra el hecho de saber que es una comunidad grande con el mismo amor por la música, donde no solo les mostraré mi talento, sino que también podré deleitarme viendo el talento de cada uno de ustedes.

Before I introduce myself I want to thank my dear friend @Andreaguitarart (an incredible guitarist), who taught me this great community and together with one of his friends @dimeilaz, super nice, who guided me to be here and show you a great part of me through music. I'm very happy to be here, it's something new for me and also, I'm happy to know that it's a big community with the same love for music, where I will not only show you my talent, but I can also enjoy watching the talent of each one of you.

Mi nombre es María Gabriela Lucena tengo 23 años de edad, nací en Barquisimeto, Estado Lara en Venezuela , (por cierto le llaman la Ciudad Musical en mi país) , actualmente llevo 18 años desde que la música llegó a mi vida. Desde los 5 años empecé en el Conservatorio” Vicente Emilio Sojo” con clases de canto en un Coro del Sistema y a parte veía clases de Cuatro, a los 7 años empecé con mi instrumento principal “Piano” y clases de teoría musical hasta mis 18 años.

My name is María Gabriela Lucena I am 23 years old, I was born in Barquisimeto,Lara State in Venezuela , (by the way they call it the Musical City in my country), I have been in my life for 18 years since music came into my life. Since I was 5 years old I started at the Conservatorio Vicente Emilio Sojo with singing lessons in a choir of the system and I also attended classes of Cuatro, at the age of 7 I started with my main instrument Piano and music theory classes.

A los 18 años me gradué del Colegio presentando como Proyecto “Musicoterapia en Pacientes Oncológicos Adultos” que consistía en ver la mejora del paciente al estar expuesto a música en vivo durante la aplicación de sus quimioterapias, en ese momento yo interpretaba un set de canciones del género musical “Bolero” para dichos pacientes. No obstante, tuve que retirarme del Conservatorio porque iba a empezar el Pre universitario de mi carrera. Sin embargo se me abrieron muchas puertas con la música, donde empecé a cantar en grupos locales para presentarnos en bodas, fiestas, serenatas, restaurantes y eventos privados.

At the age of 18 I graduated from the Conservatory presenting as a Project "Music Therapy in Adult Oncology Patients"* which consisted of seeing the improvement of the patient when exposed to live music* during the application of their chemotherapies, at that time I interpreted a set of songs of the musical genre "Bolero" for these patients. However, I had to withdraw from the Conservatory because I was going to start my pre-university studies. However, many doors opened for me with music, where I began to sing in local groups to perform at weddings, parties, serenades, restaurants and private events.

Simultaneously I started uploading covers at home for the Instagram platform, I participated in a contest of a Studio called "Studio One" here in my city, where I won and had the opportunity to record for the first time in a professional way.

Por otra parte, les cuento que crecí en una familia Católica, además de trabajar con la música, pertenezco a varios apostolados del Regnum Christi donde doy mi servicio cantando en Misas , actividades en Ancianatos interpretando Boleros para los abuelitos y también, participo en la parte de relajación de actividades como yoga que promueven la Salud Mental de la comunidad.

On the other hand, I grew up in a Catholic family, besides working with music, I belong to several apostolates of Regnum Christi where I give my service singing in Masses, activities in Elderly performing Boleros for the grandparents and also, I participate in the relaxation part of activities such as yoga that promote mental health in the community.

Durante todo este tiempo lleno de aprendizaje me he rodeado de personas increíbles que me han enseñado, apoyado y han creído en mí. Iniciando este año 2024 me surgió una oportunidad para grabar con una Productora llamada A La Par Producciones de “Caracas” (la capital de mi país), donde grabamos dos Covers bellísimos de Primera Cita-Carín León e Easy on me- Adele en su concepto de “Cover Auténtico”, este último se estrena en Youtube a finales de este mes de Marzo. También, me han entrevistado en programas de televisión locales como Promar TV.

During all this time full of learning I have been surrounded by incredible people who have taught me, supported me and believed in me. Starting this year 2024 I had the opportunity to record with a production company called A La Par Producciones from "Caracas" (the capital of my country), where we recorded two beautiful covers of Primera Cita-Carín León and Easy on me- Adele in its Concept of "Authentic Cover "., the latter will be released on Youtube at the end of this month of March. Also, I have been interviewed in local television programs such as Promar TV.
