Olá pessoal! Revirando alguns vídeos e fotos para limpar a memoria do celular encontrei muitos vídeos das minhas aulas em 2018/2019 e em meio a esses vídeos encontrei esse aqui de cima e ele me trouxe algumas reflexões. Nesse post vou falar sobre a coreografia e as reflexões que o video me trouxe.

Então vamos ao que interessa...

A coreografia

O vídeo foi um ensaio para a coreografia de forró que foi apresentada na nossa festa de final de ano de 2019 e também em uma mostra de dança no teatro Raul Cortez que fica no centro de Duque de Caxias-RJ.

A coreografia em si tinham mais casais, não me lembro quantos agora, já faz muito tempo, mas sempre no final dos ensaios eu fazia um vídeo geralmente com a Tamara pra que os alunos pudessem ver e ter como referencia pra treinar. Não sei dizer o que aconteceu nesse dia que o vídeo foi gravado com a Priscila e não com a Tamara.

A coreografia foi feita para alunos iniciantes, então ela é bem simples, mas com o grupo todo e as figuras montadas ficou bem legal e bonito. Inicialmente iriamos apresentar apenas na nossa festa de fim de ano, mas recebemos o convite da coordenadora do IDEBRA para apresentar essa e nossa coreografia de bolero dos alunos na amostra anual de dança IDEBRA que acontece no teatro Raul Cortez.

Aceitamos o convite e foi uma experiencia incrível! A maioria dos alunos nunca tinha se apresentado em um teatro antes e ficaram bem nervosos, mas no final correu tudo bem e foi ótimo. Inclusive tem o vídeo da apresentação de bolero no teatro aqui na Hive que postei a algum tempo atrás.

Foi uma das primeiras coreografias que eu e Tamara fizemos juntos e em 2019 foi nosso primeiro espetáculo de final de ano. Nosso trabalho juntos aqui em Caxias começou em 2018, mas como começamos no final do ano não fizemos nada nesse ano tendo o primeiro espetáculo em 2019.

Reflexões

As reflexões que esse vídeo me trouxe é de como o tempo muda a gente embora muitas coisas permaneçam iguais. Assistindo ele me lembrei da sensação que eu tinha ao ensinar dança e criar uma coreografia e comparado a hoje é algo totalmente diferente! Embora eu ainda seja apaixonado pela dança e por ensinar hoje a sensação é totalmente diferente. A pressão de tudo dar certo, a preocupação com detalhes que hoje vejo como não sendo tão importante assim entre outras coisas.

Outra coisa que parei pra pensar foi na equipe que eu tinha. Eu queria formar profissionais e me dedicava muito a isso mesmo não tendo nenhum tipo de retorno financeiro, apenas por ajudar na carreira de um profissional de dança e ajudar a tornar o cenário melhor. Hoje se eu não tiver um retorno não faria 10% do trabalho e esforço que coloquei para ajudar na formação da equipe naquela época. Talvez por ter visto tanto desinteresse pela parte da maioria das pessoas ou talvez por simples cansaço da vida não sei.

Claro que não me arrependo do esforço que fiz. E tenho orgulho de ter ajudado na formação da Priscila por exemplo que hoje está dando aula e é uma companheira de profissão seguindo o legado da dança em Caxias e pelo mundo.

Conclusão

Hi guys! Going through some videos and photos to clear my phone's memory, I found a lot of videos from my classes in 2018/2019 and in the midst of these videos I found this one above and it brought me some reflections. In this post I'm going to talk about the choreography and the reflections the video brought me.

So let's get down to business...

The choreography

The video was a rehearsal for the forró choreography that was performed at our 2019 end-of-year party and also at a dance show at the Raul Cortez theater in downtown Duque de Caxias-RJ.

The choreography itself had more couples, I don't remember how many now, it's been a long time, but I always made a video at the end of rehearsals, usually with Tamara, so that the students could see it and have it as a reference for training. I can't say what happened that day when the video was recorded with Priscila and not Tamara.

The choreography was made for beginners, so it's very simple, but with the whole group and the figures put together it was very nice and beautiful. Initially we were only going to perform it at our end-of-year party, but we received an invitation from IDEBRA's coordinator to perform it and our students' bolero choreography at IDEBRA's annual dance showcase, which takes place at the Raul Cortez theater.

We accepted the invitation and it was an incredible experience! Most of the students had never performed in a theater before and were very nervous, but in the end everything went well and it was great. There's even a video of the bolero performance in the theater here on Hive that I posted a while ago.

It was one of the first choreographies Tamara and I did together and in 2019 it was our first end-of-year show. Our work together here in Caxias began in 2018, but as we started at the end of the year we didn't do anything that year, with our first show in 2019.

Reflections

The reflections that this video brought me are of how time changes us even though many things remain the same. Watching it reminded me of the feeling I used to get when teaching dance and creating a choreography, and compared to today it's something totally different! Although I'm still passionate about dance and teaching, today the feeling is totally different. The pressure to get everything right, the worry about details that I now see as not being so important, among other things.

Another thing I stopped to think about was the team I had. I wanted to train professionals and I dedicated myself a lot to this even though I wasn't getting any kind of financial return, just because I was helping the career of a dance professional and helping to make the scene better. Today, if I didn't get a return, I wouldn't do 10% of the work and effort I put into helping to form the team back then. Perhaps because I saw so much disinterest on the part of most people, or perhaps because I was simply tired of life, I don't know.

Of course, I don't regret the effort I made. And I'm proud to have helped train Priscila, for example, who is now teaching and is a fellow professional following the legacy of dance in Caxias and around the world.
