Vengo de una ciudad donde existe mucho talento para el arte, la escritura, la música, y todo tipo de expresiones culturales. Además, es un sitio histórico, cuna de poetas y próceres. Les hablo de la ciudad de Cumaná, en Venezuela.

A finales de la década de los 90 e inicios del 2000, estando yo atravesando mi etapa de la adolescencia, me tocó presenciar una época dorada para la música en esta localidad, pero sobre todo en el Rock, la producción que existió fue sumamente grande. Me refiero principalmente a la diversidad de bandas, estilos, y variantes en cuanto a fusiones, algunos mezclaron Rock y Reggae, otros lo hicieron con Ska, incluso con HipHop, lo que considero una de las combinaciones más geniales de este hermoso género musical.

Mientras yo hacía lo propio con mi banda (Trivial), existió al mismo tiempo esta agrupación a la que hago referencia en esta publicación. Se trata de la gente de C4.

Esta banda fusionó lo que se concibió en esa época como New Metal con el HipHop crudo que se escuchaba y se vivía en las calles. En mi opinión personal, siempre he sido fan del RAP, y a la vez soy Rockero, por lo que esta banda me enganchó desde el primer momento que la escuché.

C4 fue un cuarteto de Rap-Metal, fundado en la ciudad de Cumaná, Venezuela, a inicios del 2000. Lograron grabar un par de demos en los que se pueden encontrar unas siete canciones en total, una canción mejor que la otra, para concretar un material musical sin desperdicio. Supremamente bueno.

Los músicos que conformaron esta banda son buenos amigos, incluso en la actualidad conservamos buen contacto, y siempre recordamos esa época dorada que nos tocó vivir. Su bajista, William Marval, falleció hace pocos años a causa de una terrible enfermedad, y considero que fue uno de mis mejores amigos.

Por lo tanto, a mi gran amigo, donde quiera que estés, esta va por ti hermano.

I come from a city where there is a lot of talent for art, writing, music, and all kinds of cultural expressions. In addition, it is a historic site, cradle of poets and statesmen. I speak to you of the city of Cumaná, in Venezuela.

At the end of the 90s and the beginning of the 2000s, while I was going through my teenage years, I witnessed a golden age for music in this locality, but above all in Rock, the production that existed was extremely large. I refer mainly to the diversity of bands, styles, and variants in terms of fusion, some mixed Rock and Reggae, others did it with Ska, even with HipHop, what I consider one of the most brilliant combinations of this beautiful musical genre.

While I was doing the same with my band (Trivial), this group that I am referring to in this post existed at the same time. It is the people of C4.

This band fused what was conceived at that time as New Metal with the raw HipHop that was heard and lived on the streets. In my personal opinion, I have always been a fan of RAP, and at the same time I am a Rocker, so this band hooked me from the first moment I heard it.

C4 was a quartet of Rap-Metal, founded in the city of Cumaná, Venezuela, at the beginning of 2000. They managed to record a couple of demos in which seven songs in total can be found, one better than the other, to concretize a musical material without waste. Supremely good.

The musicians who made up this band are good friends, even today we keep good contact, and we always remember that golden age that we had to live. His bassist, William Marval, died a few years ago from a terrible disease, and I consider him one of my best friends.

Therefore, to my great friend, wherever you are, this is for you brother.
