A Walk Amidst the On and Off Weather

An Old Norse adage once said, "There's no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothing." For a seasoned mountain dweller like me, that adage is absolutely true because in tropical countries like the Philippines, the weather is so irratic during the wet season because sometimes the rain will fall unexpectedly even if there is sunshine, so if we are planning for a mountain walk in a rainy season, always bring rain gears and some extra clothing. However, these things can bring an extra weight in our backpack so we should be wise enough to only bring items that we needed most while we stay in the boondocks so that we travel lightly on foot and enjoy every progress we made while walking and yes, bringing an extra reusable plastic bags is advisable because who knows, there are some edible wild mushrooms along the way but be extra careful though because there are species of mushrooms that are not safe to be consumed. Let's go back to the walk I had this week, generally, I made this walk being soaked in liquid most of the time as I often walk while drzzling and have to wear my raincoat when the drizzle turned to rain and while I am wearing the raincoat, it makes me prone to perspire so I have about three extra t-shirts and ample suoply of bottled drinking water to replace the fluids I lost and some biscuits. I also bring an insect repellent lotion to protect myself from mosquitoes that are very active on rainy days. About the weather, well, it rained most of the time even though if I saw the sun rose on my ascend and only yesterday that I was able to see the sunset. We have also to look for signs of upcoming thunderstorm like the presence of cottony clouds or what they call cauliflower cumulus clouds that suddenly become gray.
