It was a stormy day, and I was making my way towards our outpost along a meadow when I noticed something along a trail where lantana bushes are abundantly grown. It appeared to be a golden thing floating over the wildflowers. When I got closer to look, it became clear that they were made of the yellow pigments from a butterfly's wings, which are still visible in bad weather.
When I noticed that they were docile on a rainy day, flying from flower to flower and not seeming to mind that I was there, as opposed to when it was fine and they flew away right away when they noticed human presence and preferred to fly up in the air to evade predators, my heart seemed to leap with excitement.
I stopped briefly to capture images and videos of this breathtaking splendor because I had been longing to see this species of butterfly, which I had previously only seen flying with other butterfly species over my grandmother's santan plants when I was a child. They are the most beautiful butterfly I have ever seen.
The golden birdwing, Triodes rhadamantus, is a magnificent dancer when in flight; both sides of the forewings are black streaked with white, while the hindwings are bright yellow edged with black; the underside of the abdomen is bright yellow, but the rest of the body is black; the common name, "birdwing," derives from this.
Good day everyone, and I appreciate you taking the time to go at my modest items.
