Welcome to Afri-tunes Community; a community where we share, listen to and enjoy African music and tunes on Hive.
This is the 62nd week of our weekly contest on Hive. I encourage you to do well to subscribe, join in and present, as well as always check out for lovely African tunes in the Community.
One of the major reasons why I am enjoying this my new singing and playing vibes (lol) is that it makes it somewhat easier for me to create a musical content. Unlike previous times where I'd spend hours to create multiple videos of guitar accompaniment and guitar melody/solo, this time around I can just plug in my guitar and sing along... tadaaa video don set! (lol).
However, the major challenge I have is to CRAM the lyrics, so that I'll avoid looking elsewhere while singing. Yes, CRAM it as if I am reading for an exam. And you know the disadvantage of cramming; when you forget one line.... every other line will be blank.
When I was younger, I can remember myself singing full lyrics of songs without stress. Well, obviously, not as if I had the voice, at least I had the memory to keep all the lyrics. But this time around, "everything is just turning on its own" and it actually takes me longer time to learn lyrics. Sometimes I end up singing my own lyrics while presenting my rendition, but don't blame me, blame Yakubu.
But, one thing I discovered is that it is easier for me to play the Melody of a song on the guitar because I do not have to start cramming lyrics. I can decipher the chord progression of a song and attempt playing the melody within one hour of getting to know the song. But this is somewhat impossible with singing, because I'd have to settle my village people before they can allow me learn the lyrics.
For this week, I'd be presenting Running to You by Chike, the Lover boy.
This is an intense love song that is only for those who are fit. Yes, if you aren't fit you'll fall on the floor while running. Also, there are some special skills that Chike mentions in the song; like being a Soldier for his lady to fight all those who fight her; learning Konfu to defend her and doing many other things for love.
My dear Kings, please if you don't have the strength just rest! Just tell her not to cause trouble, because you cannot kill yourself.
