Greetings to everyone in the Hive Learners community. I decided to join the Hive Learners creative Sunday today and I hope you find my content interesting.
To most people who follow my blog, they would have read in a few of my posts where I mentioned that I work from home. It is one of the best things that has happened to me this since late last year because I don't have anyone bossing me around. Nobody likes being bossed around honestly.
I still work for someone though and have my boss but I work at my home conveniently and don't deal with the struggles of the road and traffic anymore hehe. That's by the way.
I had plans to cook beans porridge and enjoy it with a nicely prepared custard during the weekend. However, I knew I had to finish the job I had in front of me first before going to buy the items and finally prepare it.
When I finished what I was doing, I got dressed and went to the small market near my house.
Also, I had made a list of what I needed to buy, which were the black eye beans, palm-oil, crayfish, pepper, checkers custard, and milk.
I had the rest of the ingredients at home, and they are the onions, salt, and seasoning cubes.
As soon as I got home, I made sure my cooking utensils were clean and the kitchen was okay for me to start cooking.
This post is going to show the steps I followed in cooking my porridge beans and how I prepared my custard. Watch the video attached to this post for the live and detailed explanation of the cooking. Thank you.
However, while I waited for the beans to be soft, I adjusted the water by adding some more a little above the level of the beans so it would cook well. It simply means that you can adjust the water when necessary.
Finally, I turned off the heat, left the beans to cool for another 5 minutes before mixing it with a patular.
People usually enjoy bean porridge with sweet potato, plantain or yam. However, I will enjoy mine with custard and milk.
For the custard, I had my powder checkers custard ready, the milk and the sugar. The images below shows the custard powder before and after I poured water in yo mix it.
Below is the image of the beans porridge and custard. I did not spend so much time getting this beans ready. Also, the black eye beans seems best for me considering the fact that after cooking for a little while, it became soft.
Before I end this post, I would like to tell you to use a big bowl when you want to make your custard so it doesn't end up being so thick. I hope that you enjoy watch my video and reading this post.
Thanks for your time.
