    About :

The special operations and military advisors that Trump pulled out of Somalia at the end of this presidency might be going back in. If the Pentagon gets what is wants. President Biden is being asked by military leaders asking to shift the over 700 US military members back into Somalia, from neighboring Djibouti & Kenya.

The UN is also looking to renew the African Union's "mission" in Somalia until the end of the year at least.

During the Biden adminstration, air strikes on Somalia have almost completed stopped. That is until the end of last month.

Political turmoil has broken out in the country over the last year, with the president and prime minister fighting each other over the future of the US-backed central government there.

The election that was supposed to be finalized late last year, has been extended until mid-March.

President Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed suspended the powers of Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble over "corruption" back in December. A move the Prime Minister claims is a "coup", since the president's "mandate" ran out in the beginning of 2021. Roble claims the President continues to delay the election results for fear of losing power.

Somalia's elections are a bastardized version of "Western Democracy". One of the signs of a US client state. A colonial government structure dropped on an ancient society. Members of "clans" are voted as delegates (a few thousands of them), who then vote for over 200 seats in the lower house of the Senate.

With the political situation, and the attacks of Al-Shabab against election delegates, the African Union "mission", and the Somalia Nation Armythis is an election that might never be finalized.

The call to re-enter the Somalia theater is clearly to prop up the puppet government in power there. The US and the IMF (which has a long history of screwing over the people of Somalia by making deals with corrupt leaders) have given the government deadlines of next week to get things in order.

Sure sounds like a "sovereign" nation to me.
