Hello brothers and sisters, We are Indonesia Bersatu, a Punk Rock band from Medan, Indonesia. Today we are participating again. So, the weekly #openmic event has now entered week 167 with the theme Otaku. This theme was chosen by our friend and this week's spotlight artist @eudarcabello. This is a unique but interesting theme, at first, I was not sure about bringing a cover song from an anime movie soundtrack. Because I know our vocalist can't perform songs in Japanese or other languages. So I got the idea to write an Indonesian song with an Anime theme. The title of the song is Anime Di Minggu Pagi In English, this means Anime On Sunday Morning. This song is a childhood expression of my excitement and joy on Sunday mornings because, during school holidays, there are many exciting cartoon and anime movies on television.
When I was a kid, Sunday was a day I always looked forward to. From the moment I woke up, the excitement of watching a new episode of an exciting cartoon or anime movie was bubbling up inside me. While watching cartoons and anime, my mind was filled with adventure, magic, and favorite characters that made the day so special. For me and my friends back then, watching cartoons and anime on Sunday mornings was a ritual not to be missed. One of the anime series that has always been my favorite to this day is Dragon Ball. Following the adventures of Goku and his friends in a world filled with epic battles and superpowers was an amazing experience. Every episode of Dragon Ball delivers unparalleled excitement. The exciting fighting action, the amazing transformations, and the moral messages hidden in the story are all part and parcel of the viewing experience.
However, it's not just Dragon Ball that makes Sunday mornings so special. Many other cartoons are a mainstay of the morning show schedule. Cartoons like Shinchan, Naruto, Doraemon, and Pokemon, all presented interesting and imaginative stories. I couldn't miss a single episode of this series, as each cartoon had its charm. Watching cartoons and anime movies on Sunday mornings was not just entertainment, but also a precious time with my family. I would usually watch with my sisters and bond over unforgettable moments of togetherness. We would laugh, discuss the story, and sometimes even mimic our favorite scenes in the house. The movies provided us with fun conversations and special moments of togetherness amidst the daily grind.
Cartoon and anime movies are more than just entertainment for me, as they also teach us valuable lessons. Through the adventures of strong and inspiring characters, we learn about values such as friendship, courage, justice, and a tireless fighting spirit. I feel inspired by characters like Goku, who always fights to protect his loved ones and never gives up in the face of obstacles. However, like everything in life, there comes a time when the ritual of watching cartoons and anime movies on Sunday mornings comes to an end. As I grew older, priorities and obligations changed, and I started spending my Sunday mornings on other activities. Nonetheless, the fond memories and joy I felt while watching anime remain imprinted in my memory.
