My best friend's wedding - 2 years in the making!

This was what one of my best friends said a few days before her wedding last month. However due to the pandemic, my friend Faye decided to drop much of the entourage party. Lucky me, I didn't have to be a bridesmaid that day. I wouldn't be pressured into thinking how many weddings I have attended and I'm still single. 😂 But its all good really.

However, she did gave me other roles to do. One was being a mass reader which wasn't a problem since I grew up doing this at our local church. Another role was to teach the couple and some people to dance which at that time I thought to myself "I'm not a dancer.. Gone were the days I can sway my hips right". But I cannot disappoint my friend.

Anyways, will just share a tidbits of what transpired with this beautiful wedding or my favorite moments during the whole event. On the video:

The church wedding was held at The Archdiocesan Shrine of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus here in Cebu City on the first week of July over the weekend. The whole ceremony pushed forward with ease despite many setbacks not to mention this wedding was supposed to be celebrated 2 years ago but because Covid shit happened it was moved to this year. Also from 200 guests, we were now down to 50 guests. So more likely, it was an intimate wedding.

Since I was sitting near the altar I couldn't watch my friend closely as she gracefully walked the aisle. But I'm damned sure she was the most beautiful during that day. Proud friend here. The couple happily exchanged their wedding vows and we proceeded with the photo ops before heading to the reception.

After which we headed to Radisson Blue Hotel to enjoy a fun and memorable reception with the newly wedded couple and the rest of the guests. The venue was stunningly decorated and the whole event was managed by Empire Events - Cebu. The theme for the wedding was rustic and we were asked to dress accordingly.

Only a few friends were able to attend. Some were from abroad and couldn't come. Some were Faye's college friends which in the end became our good friends as well. Then me, Karla and Gabe, here closest friends from middle school. Our friendship has been more than 10 years and counting. We had a lot of fun and participated with the games. When it came to the video presentation of how their love came to be, all of us were in tears.

Since we were still not allowed to gather outside and have some drinks, we ended the night at the couple's room drinking and having games together with the rest of the gang. Yes, not your typical ending but the newly weds said they wouldn't have it any other way. Oh! we left in the morning. No worries, the had a long week honeymoon without our nuisance.
