Si hay un DJ y músico que haya hecho que me gustara la música electrónica, él dance y trance, ha sido este, Gigi D’agostino.
Desde pequeño empecé a escuchar su música, recuerdo mucho que en la biblioteca de música que había en el computador hace unos veintitantos años, se encontraban muchas canciones y artistas que algunos amigos de mis padres nos habían compartido. Entre ellas, varios temas de Gigi, sus grandes éxitos como, L’amour Toujours, The Riddle, La Passion entre otros.

Su música me llenaba de mucha energía, me animaba mucho y fue desde ahí que me hice fan de D’agostino. “La Passion” es una canción de dance muy minimalista, ya que es repetitiva, pero poco a poco se van incorporando más elementos a la canción, el riff es muy pegajoso y ya les contaré de donde viene esta melodía. En la versión que yo hago, entro de una vez con la melodía, el bajo y unos pads para darle algo de ambiente. Posteriormente, entra el bombo, y luego el beat completo para ir a la pista de baile.

Esta es una de las canciones más conocidas de Gigi D’agostino. Es muy habitual que él use algunos riffs y samples para sus canciones. Este riff en particular es tomado de la canción “Rectangle” de el músico francés Jacno. Para mí fue muy genial poder saber el origen de esta melodía, ya que gracias a esto, pude conocer de Jacno y a su música, que me gusta demasiado.

Gigi tuvo que retirarse de la música y de los escenarios desde el 2022 puesto que ha tenido algunas complicaciones en su salud. Lastimosamente, nunca pude verlo en vivo, además de que su “prime” lo tuve en los años 2000, donde yo estaba muy pequeño para ir a clubs a verlo. Aun así, disfruto de su música y es por esto que quería hacerle un pequeño homenaje a su trayectoria. De hecho no es el primer Cover que hago de él, antes ya había hecho mi remix de L’amour Toujours, que en redes se hizo algo popular.

Para este remix usé mi Arturia Minilab, Logic Pro X para software de grabación y algunas tomas multicamara para darle un toque diferente al video. Espero les guste y le haya traído algunos recuerdos de vuelta, estoy seguro de que al menos una vez Gigi D’agostino los acompaño en sus ratos de música.

If there is one DJ and musician who made me like electronic music, dance and trance, it was Gigi D'agostino.
I started listening to his music since I was a child, and I remember that in the music library on my computer some twenty-something years ago, there were many songs and artists that some of my parents' friends had shared with us. Among them, several songs by Gigi, his greatest hits such as, L'amour Toujours, The Riddle, La Passion among others.

His music filled me with a lot of energy, it cheered me up a lot and it was from there that I became a fan of D'agostino. "La Passion" is a very minimalistic dance song, as it is repetitive, but little by little more elements are incorporated into the song, the riff is very catchy and I will tell you where this melody comes from. In the version that I do, I enter at once with the melody, the bass and some pads to give it some atmosphere. After that, the bass drum comes in, and then the whole beat to go to the dance floor.

This is one of Gigi D'agostino's best known songs. It is very common for him to use some riffs and samples for his songs. This particular riff is taken from the song "Rectangle" by French musician Jacno. It was very cool for me to know the origin of this melody, because thanks to this, I got to know Jacno and his music, which I like very much.

Gigi had to retire from music and from the stage since 2022 because of health complications. Unfortunately, I never got to see him live, plus his "prime" was in the 2000s, when I was too young to go to clubs to see him. Even so, I enjoy his music and that's why I wanted to pay a small tribute to his career. In fact it's not the first cover I've done of his music, before I had already done my remix of L'amour Toujours, which became quite popular on the net.

For this remix I used my Arturia Minilab, Logic Pro X for recording software and some multi-camera shots to give a different touch to the video. I hope you like it and it brought back some memories, I'm sure that at least once Gigi D'agostino accompanied you in your musical moments.
