A few days ago I decided that I should invest a little more in my setup, to have some comfort when doing my crafts.

Certainly I have felt comfortable so far in my work table, but there are times when I do feel that I am missing things that I spend too much replacing tools. That's why I felt the need to buy a few things that I show you in the video at the beginning of the post.

It's a little Unboxing/Conversation about these new things I bought. I hope you enjoy it.

Hace unos cuantos días decidí que debía invertir un poco más en mi setup, para tener ciertas comodidades a la hora de hacer mis manualidades.

Ciertamente me he sentido cómodo hasta ahora en mi mesa de trabajo, pero hay ocasiones en las que sí siento que me faltan cosas que gasto demasiado reemplazando herramientas. Por eso me vi en la necesidad de comprar unas cuantas cosas que les muestro en el video que está al comienzo del post.

Es un pequeño Unboxing/Conversatorio sobre estas nuevas cosas que compré. Espero lo disfruten.

Well, as you know I'm a sculptor, so many of the things I do require specific tools. I usually do plasticine molding, but I have also used other materials like flexible dough or clay.

Bien, como saben soy escultor, así que muchas de las cosas que hago requieren de herramientas específicas. Suelo hacer moldeado de plastilina, pero también he usado otros materiales como masa flexible o arcilla.

In my work area I usually work with a paper on top of the wooden table, but sometimes paper doesn't provide much comfort against the irregular texture of a paper table, so I was searching the internet and found out about the existence of the cutting mat. It was love at first sight, as it is something I felt I needed.

At first I couldn't find it in my city, but with the help of a dear friend I managed to find one. It is soft, yes, but rigid enough to work comfortably on it.

En mi área de trabajo suelo trabajar con un papel encima de la mesa de madera, pero a veces el papel no brinda demasiada comodidad ante la textura irregular de una mesa de papel, así que estuve buscando por internet y me enteré de la existencia de la cutting mat. Fue amor a primera vista, pues es algo que sentía que necesitaba.

En un principio no la encontré en mi ciudad, pero con ayuda de una preciada amiga logré encontrar una. Es suave, sí, pero lo suficientemente rígida para trabajar cómodamente sobre esta.

Sometimes I use needles or pins to make other things, but there are also times when I need to cut pieces, be it cardboard, paper or the same plasticine. I usually use scissors or blades, but sometimes they are too big so I decided to buy a precision cutter for this purpose.

It has a sharp tip that can cut almost any craft material, so it is a tool that must be worked very carefully, it can be really dangerous, so be careful with this kind of tools.

A veces suelo utilizar agujas o alfileres para hacer otras cosas, pero también hay momentos en que necesito cortar piezas, ya sea cartón, papel o la misma plastilina. Suelo usar tijeras u hojillas, pero a veces son demasiado grandes así que decidí comprarme un cutter de precisión para este propósito.

Tiene una punta afilada que puede cortar casi cualquier material para manualidades, así que es una herramienta que se debe trabajar con mucho cuidado, pues puede ser realmente peligroso, así que cuidado con este tipo de herramientas.

On the other hand, more than tools I also bought more materials for my crafts. I often use different types of paints to decorate my sculptures, but there are two that tend to give simply beautiful finishes, such as gold and silver paint.

These paints are very expensive, as they are not used much, so this pair of small bottles of paint will be useful for many things.

Por otra parte, más que herramientas también compré más materiales para mis manualidades. Con frecuencia suelo utilizar distintos tipos de pinturas para decorar mis esculturas, pero hay dos que suelen dar acabados simplemente hermosos, tales como la pintura dorada y la plateada.

Estas pinturas rinden demasiado, pues no se usan mucho, así que este par de frascos pequeños de pintura me servirán para muchas cosas.

And finally, the material that I almost always use for my sculptures, plasticine. It is a very good material that I really like to use, even more than the clay or flexible dough itself, because of how malleable and clean it is.

These that I bought are the ones I always use, except for the small package, which is a test one that I used to see how it was. In the video you can see a brief unboxing of each of these things.

Y por último, el material que casi siempre suelo utilizar para mis esculturas, la plastilina. Es un material muy bueno que a mi me gusta mucho usar, más incluso que la propia arcilla o masa flexible, por lo maleable y limpia que es.

Estas que compré son las que siempre uso, excepto la de empaque pequeño, que es una de prueba que utilicé a ver que tal era. En el video pueden ver un unboxing breve de cada una de estas cosas.
