Unos días antes del carnaval, la profesora de mi niño, nos informó acerca del desfile pedagógico que se realizaría en la ciudad y que concentraría a las distintas instituciones educativas que hacen vida en el Municipio Campo Elías, Estado Mérida.

El tema de la comparsa, sería los llanos venezolanos, me pareció muy bonito el tema, aunque, por otro lado, pensé, son niños pequeños, debería ser un traje más divertido que ellos se emocionen al usar, aunque el traje de llanero es hermoso, pero a esa edad ellos no lo entienden, además no tenía nada de ropa acorde a la temática, entonces recordé la camisa a cuadros que uso en su disfraz de pastor, le dibuje sus bigotes otra vez, un pantalón de vestir y listo, hubiese querido colocarle un sombrero, pero no conseguí ninguno.

Lo cierto, es que él estaba animado, pues disfruto mucho ver el desfile ferial, pensó que sería algo muy parecido, pero una cosa es ser parte del público y otra muy distinta es formar parte del desfile, especialmente, para los niños pequeños como él, algunos no caminan tanto, el sol, la multitud, todo esto junto puede ser abrumador.

A few days before the carnival, my child's teacher informed us about the pedagogical parade that would take place in the city and that would concentrate the different educational institutions that make life in the Campo Elias Municipality, Merida State.

The theme of the parade would be the Venezuelan plains, I found the theme very nice, although, on the other hand, I thought, they are small children, it should be a more fun costume that they are excited to use, although the llanero costume is beautiful, but at that age they do not understand it, besides I had no clothes according to the theme, then I remembered the plaid shirt I used in his costume of pastor, I drew his mustaches again, a dress pants and ready, I would have liked to put a hat, but I did not get any.

The truth is that he was in high spirits, he really enjoyed watching the parade, he thought it would be something very similar, but it is one thing to be part of the public and quite another to be part of the parade, especially for little kids like him, some of them don't walk that much, the sun, the crowd, all this together can be overwhelming.

This gave him the opportunity to be close to a musical band, take a picture with one of them and see the instruments, I have noticed that this attracts him a lot of attention, even now he uses any object to imitate them at home. The parade started and we joined it, but as he saw that other kids were wearing masks, he asked for his Batman mask (thank goodness I had it in my bag), he walked almost all the way, he never let go of my hand. I carried him in my arms for a while, so he could rest a little and when the ride was over, I rewarded him by buying him a juice, cookies and some balloons, he arrived home tired but happy, telling everyone about his experience.
