Antes que nada, quiero presentarme ante esta gran comunidad, mi nombre es Dina y espero de aquí en adelante poder compartir mis experiencias culinarias y gastronómicas. En esta ocasión, se nos presentó la oportunidad de probar por primera vez comida coreana, faltaba como una hora para entrar a la función del cine así que el momento era el adecuado.

No sé si es por desconocimiento, pero me pareció raro ver la palabra “Ramen” en el nombre de un restaurante coreano, pensé que era una palabra estrictamente japonesa, pero bueno, decidí hacer caso omiso y sencillamente me dediqué a ver la carta. He comido ramen anteriormente en restaurantes japoneses y la experiencia fue maravillosa, así que las expectativas estaban bastante altas.

First of all, I want to introduce myself to this great community, my name is Dina and I hope from now on I can share my culinary and gastronomic experiences. On this occasion, we had the opportunity to try Korean food for the first time, it was about an hour to enter the movie theater so the time was right.

I don't know if it is due to lack of knowledge, but it seemed strange to see the word "Ramen" in the name of a Korean restaurant, I thought it was a strictly Japanese word, but well, I decided to ignore it and simply looked at the menu. I have eaten ramen before in Japanese restaurants and the experience was wonderful, so expectations were quite high.

Sin embargo, al ver los precios de los diferentes platos pude entender que no debía esperar mucho ya que era mucho más económico que los tazones de ramen que he comido antes, estos siempre han sido costosos pero la calidad y el buen sabor no tenían discusión, en esas ocasiones la satisfacción siempre ha estado garantizada.

Nos percatamos que el lugar era muy colorido, los dibujos o imágenes relacionadas al anime abundaban; a parte de los platos de la carta también venden bebidas y golosinas asiáticas y por supuesto ramen y fideos instantáneos los cuales son muy típicos en Asia. Un detalle muy bonito, es que el techo estaba adornado con decenas de origamis, el contraste con las luces era espectacular.

However, when I saw the prices of the different dishes I could understand that I should not expect much since it was much cheaper than the bowls of ramen I have eaten before, these have always been expensive but the quality and good taste had no discussion, on those occasions satisfaction has always been guaranteed.

We noticed that the place was very colorful, drawings or images related to anime abounded; apart from the dishes on the menu they also sell drinks and Asian sweets and of course ramen and instant noodles which are very typical in Asia. A very nice detail is that the ceiling was decorated with dozens of origami, the contrast with the lights was spectacular.

Sin mucho más que pensar, ordenamos el ramen más sencillo de la carta ya que no queríamos arriesgarnos con uno que luego nos fuera a decepcionar por desconocimiento en los exóticos ingredientes, pero le agregamos cerdo empanizado ya que sabíamos que no había posibilidad de que estuviera mal.

El plato estaba compuesto por caldo de cerdo, fideos, cebollín, un huevo sancochado cortado a la mitad y cerdo empanizado, este último muy magro y suave, lo pedimos sin picante ya que te dan opción de cuatro intensidades (sin picante – poco picante – picante y extra picante), en ese sentido preferimos nos arriesgarnos ya que el día era largo.

Without much more to think about, we ordered the simplest ramen on the menu as we didn't want to take a chance with one that would disappoint us due to our lack of knowledge of the exotic ingredients, but we added breaded pork as we knew there was no chance it would be bad.

The dish was composed of pork broth, noodles, scallions, a boiled egg cut in half and breaded pork, the latter very lean and soft, we ordered it without spicy as they give you a choice of four intensities (no spicy - little spicy - spicy and extra spicy), in that sense we preferred to take the risk as the day was long.

Debo decir que francamente no estaba bueno, el caldo estaba simple y sin un sabor que lo distinguiera, los fideos parecían instantáneos, el cebollín estaba cortado rústicamente y los huevos bueno, solo eran huevos. Lo único que puedo rescatar es el cerdo empanizado, estaba suave, crujiente y con muy buen sabor, por lo menos por esa parte quedamos satisfechos.

No creo que vuelva a comer en ese lugar, sé que por el precio que pagamos (4 USD$ cada plato) no es para exigir mucho, pero uno espera un mínimo de calidad en lugares como estos. Los invito a ver el video para que puedan observar con mayor detalle el lugar y el plato que ordenamos.

I must say that frankly it was not good, the broth was simple and without a distinguishing flavor, the noodles looked like instant noodles, the scallions were roughly cut and the eggs, well, they were just eggs. The only thing I can rescue is the breaded pork, it was soft, crispy and with a very good flavor, at least for that part we were satisfied.

I don't think I will eat there again, I know that for the price we paid (4 USD$ each dish) it is not to demand much, but one expects a minimum of quality in places like these. I invite you to watch the video so you can observe in more detail the place and the dish we ordered.
