    ENG:

    A cordial musical greeting.

Ethics and Freedom - "Ethics + Freedom" two words that must be highlighted and try to sow them in the new generations so that the world is better, so that humanity is more humane.
With these words I begin and greet you to present this song of freedom, since the Calypso comes from the songs of the enslaved Africans of the time of the Spanish Colony in America.
Its origin goes back to the first African slaves who worked in the sugar cane plantations of the island of Trinidad and Tobago and were brought to Venezuela. It was a form of expression for men and women who were far away from their loved ones and their land, and it also served to unite them and allow them to unburden their sorrows.

In Venezuela, Calypso is played in the eastern part of the State of Sucre, Nueva Esparta, Monagas, in Ciudad Guayana and in the State of Bolivar, mainly under the Steel-Band modality, due to the border influence, the use of Antillean labor in the oil exploitation and in the iron industry.

It is a happy and catchy rhythm, it is a musical genre that is interpreted in all the Antilles that in some way was adapted to our country and interpreted with Venezuelan musical instruments, which give it the Venezuelan character.

Its peculiarity is that it uses as main instrument some drums, made from recycled oil barrels, called steeldrums or simply Trinidad metal drums, widely used in Trinidadian carnivals. These drums were created because of the need of the African descendants in these islands to play and, since they did not have any instrument, they began to play the barrels, which were dented and then set to defined heights, which would allow the instrument to be tempered with a chromatic scale in the future.
