Avala is one of the lowest mountains in Serbia with only 511 meters above sea level. It is located about 15 kilometers from Belgrade and is one of the favorite places of Belgraders to enjoy some fresh air.

I recently hiked some very urban trails on this mountain. Of course, Avala also hides some forest and slightly more isolated hiking trails, which I will show you in one of the following videos.

For now, a walk through the urban area, passing by the war veterans monument and a visit to the top of Avala and the plateau where the monumental monument to the Unknown Hero is located. Then follows a relaxed descent along the only paved footpath to the Skakinac water source.
