Let's look at the numbers 💯👀

Most on Hive already know about https://hivestats.io/. It is currently one of the best tools for tracking everything going on with each individual account. If you are new here and didn't already know about HiveStats, I guess you will be learning something new today.

This app has many different features, but I wanted to focus on one specific area today. I usually use HiveStats to keep track of my own numbers, but sometimes I like to look at other accounts and make comparisons.

One thing I've noticed is that many users have earned a ton of rewards over the years, but don't have much Hive Power to show for it. This means that they've powered down and most likely sold their rewards for some short-term gains.

I have continued to resist the urge to sell large amounts of HIVE, which has led my actual HP number to be higher than my lifetime rewards. This tells you that I've been holding way more than I have been selling.

Now there isn't anything exactly wrong with having a higher reward number than your total HP. Everyone is in a different life situation and some have no other choice but to sell just so they can afford their next meal.

There are also curation accounts with large amounts of HP delegated to them and they of course must sell their rewards to pay their delegators.

Then there are the people who have huge rewards, can't even reply to their comments, and sell 100% of what they earn from HIVE. I've noticed that a lot of times the ones most likely to be doing this are "influencers" who have large followings elsewhere and just think of Hive as a way to earn some extra crypto.

Meanwhile, there are those here who are really in it for the long haul and believe that Hive is the future of Web3 social media. I'm one of those people. The numbers on HiveStats prove that.
