Back from the dead AGAIN 💀

You may have seen my post last week about Meechy Darko's debut album "Gothic Luxury". I cannot praise this album enough for its sheer ability to keep me listening. I feel like each time I hear the tracks individually I am learning something new. Then when I listen from songs 1-13 all the way through, it's as if I've transformed momentarily into a luxurious undead nightmare. Meechy is hands down my favorite rapper.

He announced his solo tour of shows called "A Tour Named Gothika" about a week before the album was released. I was hyped to listen and knew it was going to be good but was not prepared to love it as much as I do. At first, I told myself that I didn't need to go to any of his shows. Then after listening to the album dozens of times, I realized, why not go to one?

I took a moment to mosey on over to https://meechisdead.com/ and buy myself a ticket. I spotted the closest show to me, about 4.5 hours away in Asheville, NC, on Nov 18th and then confirmed my purchase. It ended up being only $30 or so for my individual ticket. Just like this is his first solo tour, this will be a solo trip for me and one of my first ones in nearly 3 years.

I decided to stay at my favorite hostel https://www.sweetpeashostel.com/, which is only $45/night for a very nice bed. It will also cost me $20 to park my car, but $65 is dirt cheap around these parts. Plus it is less than a 10-minute walk from the venue at https://theorangepeel.net/. I'll be in the center of downtown with the ability to walk to all of the best stuff in Asheville. This place is full of breweries and great places to eat. It once was named the happiest city in America. It's a safe haven for hippies and that's what made me originally visit many years ago. It's been a couple of years since I've been there, but I'm ready to back.

    The last bit đŸĒĻ

In today's video, I wanted to discuss in more detail why I think going to Meechy Darko's show is a must for me. I've been to a few other rap concerts before, but it has been about 10 years since my last one. I have some cool stories about those times for you in this video too.

I also wanted to take the time to ask if anybody lives nearby Asheville, NC. I will be there for a little over 24 hours and I will have plenty of free time before and after the concert. I know it's doubtful that anybody on Hive lives in the area, but you never know. If you're close by, let me know!

I'll end this with a few of Meechy's newest music videos. This guy has a killer image and his talent backs it all up. I'm so ready to see this dude kill it on stage on Friday, November 18, 2022.
