This Spooky, originally by Buffalo Springfield, from the '60's.
We are doing an arrangement that is basically a copy of an arrangement by the sax player David Sanborn.
David Sanborn has been a HUGE influence on me.
When someone would ask me who my favorite musician is, I would say, I can't give you just one, but if you put a gun to my head, I would David Sanborn, The Beatles, and Jimi Hendrix.
David Sanborn inspired me so much. I didn't originally like the saxophone, I wanted to play an instrument that was "cool". But then I heard David Sanborn. His ability to play sooo smooth but also get sooo raunchy and dirty really inspired to do a similar thing. And as far as tone is concerned, I really have tried to copy David Sanborn.
I'll attach the lyrics, even though this version is designed without lyrics.
Lyrics:
In the cool of the evening
When everything is getting kind of groovy
You call me up and ask me
Would I like to go with you and see a movie?
First I say no, I've got some plans for tonight
And then I stop and say all right
Love is kind of crazy with a spooky little boy like you
You always keep me guessing
I never seem to know what you are thinking
And if a girl looks at you
It's for sure your little eye will be a-winking
I get confused, I never know where I stand
And then you smile and hold my hand
Love is kind of crazy with a spooky little boy like you
Spooky
If you decide some day to stop this little game that you are a-playing
I'm gonna tell you all the things my heart's been a-dying to be saying
Just like a ghost you've been a-haunting my dreams
But now I know you're not what you seem
Love is kind of crazy with a spooky little boy like you
Spooky
Ahh, ahh, spooky, mmm, spooky, ahh, ahh, ahh, spooky, ooh, spooky
Ahh, aah, aah, spooky
