    About :

Another day to play and learn from my student’s repertoire. In today’s video I’m playing the 6th study from the 15 Easy Studies by Ernst. Koehler.

Slur big intervals going into the high register is one of my weak points. My embouchure is not that stable and I used to feel uncomfortable and feel stressed when playing something like this. I can see how my shoulders and throat are a bit tense and how that affect the sound. The phrasing is pretty and I really like some phrase’s endings. I could say this is a study with a lot of energy and charisma (the first word you see on it is “deciso” which means decided in Italian), invites you to practice your legato technique without accent the high notes and keeping the tunning under control. It was a lot of fun play it indeed!
So tell me, did you play this beautiful study before? What do you think about it? What is your favorite part? Let me know your opinion below.
