La canción que seleccionamos pertenece al álbum "Cóctel" del año 1993, uno de los discos más populares de Miguel Mateos y uno de mis favoritos de su discografia. 📀 En ese disco están incluidos temas como "Obsesión", "Mi sombra en la Pared" y "Atado a un Sentimiento" que sonaron muchísimo en las estaciones de radio junto a "Cuando Seas Grande". Todas estas canciones fueron muy emblemáticas del artista, tanto que nombrarlo era darle play a cualquiera de estas en tu cabeza 🎧. A mediados de los noventas mi residencia estaba en la ciudad de Puerto La Cruz (Anzoátegui - Venezuela), en aquel entonces habían muchas bandas de rock y pop muy activas en esa ciudad y casi todas incluían una de esas canciones de Mateos en su repertorio.

The song we selected belongs to the album "Cóctel" from 1993, one of the most popular albums by Miguel Mateos and one of my favorites from his discography. 📀 That album includes songs like "Obsesión", "Mi sombra en la Pared" and "Atado a un Sentimiento" that played a lot on radio stations along with "Cuando Seas Grande". All these songs were very emblematic of the artist, so much so that to name him was to play any of these in your head 🎧. In the mid-nineties my residence was in the city of Puerto La Cruz (Anzoátegui - Venezuela), at that time there were many very active rock and pop bands in that city and almost all of them included one of those Mateos songs in their repertoire.

Conocí la musica de Miguel Mateos por mi amigo Robert, un sujeto que conocí en la universidad y que amaba el rock en español; "Baron Rojo", "Ratas Blancas", "Enanitos Verdes", "Prisoneros", "Soda Estéreo"... eran parte de su repertorio incluyendo a Mateos, pero este último era uno de sus favoritos 🌟. Así que en las tardes en su residencia, acompañados de un cigarrillo y un vaso de cocacola, nos adentrabamos en la musica de sus artistas favoritos y el disco Cóctel me enganchó por muchísimo tiempo. Mateos fue un artista muy prolífico que nos dejó 9 álbumes de estudio, 3 en vivo y una larga lista de sencillos en su carrera. Todo su material discográfico es de colección 👑.

I got to know the music of Miguel Mateos through my friend Robert, a guy I met at university and who loved rock in Spanish; "Baron Rojo", "Ratas Blancas", "Enanitos Verdes", "Prisoneros", "Soda Estéreo"... were part of his repertoire including Mateos, but the latter was one of his favorites 🌟. So in the afternoons at his residence, accompanied by a cigarette and a glass of Coca-Cola, we delved into the music of his favorite artists and the album Cóctel hooked me for a long time. Mateos was a very prolific artist who left us 9 studio albums, 3 live albums and a long list of singles in his career. All his record material is collectible 👑.

⭐️EL COVER⭐️

"Cuando Seas Grande" es una canción que te identifica automáticamente en tu adolesencia, ya que estas viviendo una etapa de transformacion y deseos de libertad; las salidas, los amigos, el estilo de vestir, tu cabello... todo representa para tí una lista de ingredientes para auto diseñarte y reinventarte en sintonía con tus impulsos y emociones. El que vas a hacer cuando seas grande es en lo último que piensas cuando estas viviendo a límite. En la actualidad ya no la veo como una cancion que me identifique, ya que a mis 46 😝 la aventura es otra, pero ese estilo a lo Bruce Springsteen me fascina y la rola "rockanrolera" si que me atrae y me divierte muchísimo.

"Cuando Seas Grande" is a song that automatically identifies you in your adolescence, since you are living a stage of transformation and desire for freedom; the outings, the friends, the style of dress, your hair... everything represents for you a list of ingredients to self-design and reinvent yourself in tune with your impulses and emotions. What you're going to do when you grow up is the last thing you think about when you're living on the edge. Nowadays I no longer see it as a song that identifies me, since at 46 😝 the adventure is another, but that Bruce Springsteen style fascinates me and the "rock'n'roll" song does attract me and I have a lot of fun.
