Hey guys👋
How are you all doing!✨
Almost a year ago, I received a message in a sketching class group that there's a art competition about to be organised and they need 5 students from all over the university to participate.
After awhile of a struggle of should or shouldn't, I texted miss for participation and sent her some of my works. After a day, I was added in a group and there I was, short listed for the competition.
Now the first thing for which I was worried for was the materials that were required and I only had 6 days. First day was wasted as my brother couldn't find a canvas of required size i.e. 3×2 feet (that was quite large).
Then the next day after university we again went to by stuff and luckily I got everything I needed in that store.
On returning we had these amazing and fresh gulab jamuns😋.
Now when we reached home it was already 11:30pm and I was also tired, so that day I could only prepared canvas, for it had got some dents while bringing it home.
Now one thing I want to tell you first is that I had never used acrylic paints before or even didn't know how to prepare the canvas. I had no idea abour how acrylics behave in on paper or on canvas. I was just trusting the process.
The theme was "How you want to see your city in 2030?". I had used the famous reference of street of paris which is recreated by many. I unfortunately lost the references I used.
I modified it and added some elements according to Karachi City.
I literally can't explain how much I had worked to make the painting in time. I almost had 3 days, and in that too I had to attend university too. I had slept at 5am, for 2 consecutive days.
This was mess going around in the process.
To clarify the elements, we were also required to add details.
It's a screenshot, so it might not be that clear.
After a day we had schedule that we have to present our painting in a short speech.
Now it was another task to be done. I prepared myself for it. Honestly speaking I'm not that good at speaking publicly. You can see me speaking there in the video😅, if I could get the video uploaded.
Before our presentations there was an insightful discussion panels organised, which included different experts.
After that results were announced, and I could make it upto any of the 3 positions😔. It was fine, but it took me a lot of time to digest the fact.
Here I was getting certificate of participation.
Here are the 2 things which I would remember forever regarding this event.
Firstly one is related to my class. A day before I texted in my class group to show up as I was going to present and their presence would make the crowd more familiar. And yeah they did appear.
When I went up the stage almost half of the audience was my class. I was and will be so grateful for their support.
And here's the fun fact, although I didn't got any position but I did got the loudest applause and credit goes to them😆
Now the other thing is a bit emotional. When I shared this video of mine with my family my father replied this....
I'm never gonna get over this🙃💫.
What I learned is, that it is not always about being ranked, it's the process and the people who are with you, it's about the constant support of your loved ones✨.
Okay, I guess it is enough for today😁.
See y'all again💕
Take care
Bye bye 🦋✨
